Charlotte Flair joked that she might wrestle in robes after a brief broadcast interruption during her November 7, 2025, WWE SmackDown match with Nia Jax. Reports agree that the screen went black during the match, but differ on whether the wardrobe malfunction was visible.
What happened during the match
Flair faced Jax on Friday, November 7, 2025. Us Weekly reported that Flair adjusted her bedazzled white top before the broadcast briefly cut to black. Us Weekly’s account says Jax defeated Flair with help from Lash Legend.
Reports differ on what viewers saw
The interruption itself is reported across the coverage, but accounts of the moment’s visibility conflict. Wrestling News Source described the screen going black several times and said the production cut prevented the malfunction from being shown. Cageside Seats also reported multiple cuts to black, but said the malfunction appeared for a split second. The available reports therefore do not establish whether viewers saw it.
Flair’s response the next day
On November 8, Flair responded to a social-media user asking, “Did Charlotte Flair have a ‘wardrobe malfunction?’” Us Weekly and Wrestling News Source reproduced her reply: “I’m going to start wrestling in the robes.” The remark was a joke about the incident, not a reported announcement of a change to her ring attire.
