Chappell Roan’s September 20, 2025, Forest Hills Stadium show turned a castle-themed stage, a guitar-forward band and a crowd of full-voice fans into a theatrical pop-rock spectacle. The opening-night set list had 19 songs, beginning with “Super Graphic Ultra Modern Girl” and ending with “Pink Pony Club.” It was not identical to the set recorded for September 24: that community-maintained list has 18 songs and omits “Kaleidoscope.”
What the September 20 show was like
Roan’s performance was built like a gothic fairytale: a castle-inspired set with a throne, staircase, parapets and drawbridge framed the songs, while costume changes and camp fantasy imagery kept the staging in motion. The live band gave the production a guitar-heavy rock sound rather than making it feel like a static pop spectacle.
The audience was part of the show. Fans sang along loudly, and Roan taught the crowd the dance to “HOT TO GO!” Her welcome to the audience captured the communal spirit Rob Sheffield describes in his Rolling Stone review of opening night: “I hope that you know you’re welcome here, however you show up today. You are cherished.”
The critics offered distinct readings of that spectacle. Sheffield framed the September 20 performance as a triumphant homecoming. Pitchfork focused on the intimacy created by fans sharing the moment during “Pink Pony Club,” amid a dress-up atmosphere that included sequins and pink cowboy hats. Those outfits were part of the crowd’s exuberance, not a stated dress requirement.

In its review of September 21, The Guardian saw the quieter “California” as the emotional pivot in an otherwise maximalist set. Its critic, Adrian Horton, described the crowd as 13,000 devotees; that is the reviewer’s reported figure, not an independently audited attendance count or a statement of venue capacity.

Did the set list change on other nights?
Yes. Forest Hills Stadium’s run featured Roan on September 20, 21, 23 and 24, 2025, with Japanese Breakfast and hemlocke springs billed alongside her. The available records do not establish a complete song-by-song comparison across all four dates, so they do not support ranking the nights or claiming that every show had the same set.

- HIGH FIDELITY EAR PLUGS - You may experience muffling when you wear foam-based ones. But those days are gone. You will be able to hear different sound frequencies and talk to people with these HIFI earplugs since they reduce noise evenly and maintain the full frequency.
- ECO-FRIENDLY DESIGN - These hypoallergenic silicone earplugs are washable and reusable, so if you keep them right, they will stay with you for years. In contrast, the Polyurethane foam takes up to 5 years to degrade in nature. So it's cool to have personalized and exclusive silicone earplugs!
- NOISE REDUCTION 23dB - The acoustic filter elements in the ear plug can reduce the volume by 23 dB, which is an ideal value for concerts or band rehearsals. So you can do more of what you love while minimizing the risk of noise-induced hearing loss, tinnitus, and anxiety.
- REURE CAN PROTECT YOU ANYWHERE - The compact case protects your earplugs. You can attach it on your key chain, jeans, or backpack and it can follow you anywhere. Ideal for concerts, noise sensitivity, tinnitus relief, motorcycles, musicians, sports events, flying, sleeping noise cancelling, etc.
- PERFECT FIT GUARANTEE - Every order comes with two pairs of different-sized ear plugs so that you can have the most comfortable experience. If you have any problems when you are using it, please get in touch with our support team to get the best after-sales service 🙂
The clearest listed difference is between September 20 and September 24: the latter’s setlist.fm entry has 18 songs and omits “Kaleidoscope.” The site records start times of 8:20 p.m. for September 20 and 8:15 p.m. for September 24; both entries are community-maintained, not official timing records.
Nancy Wilson of Heart joined Roan for “Barracuda” on September 21, according to The Guardian’s review of that night. That guest appearance should not be added to the September 20 set list above.

The songs behind the live show
The set drew heavily on The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, Roan’s debut album. The Guardian described the September 21 performance as a 93-minute set containing almost every song she had recorded at that point; that duration applies to the reviewed September 21 show, not necessarily the opening night. Setlist.fm attributes 14 songs on its September 20 list to the album.
For listeners who want the studio album rather than a concert recording, Roan’s official store lists a standard 2LP vinyl edition with a 14-track sequence. It is the album, not a recording of the Forest Hills performance.
