Angel Devil is a devil working as a devil hunter in Public Safety’s Special Division 4. He is unusual because his touch absorbs human lifespan, which he can then use to create weapons. That lethal ability contrasts with his angel-like appearance and reluctance to work.
Who is Angel Devil in Chainsaw Man?
Angel Devil is affiliated with Public Safety’s Special Division 4, the organization’s devil-hunting force. He works alongside Aki Hayakawa in the story. The character profile from JINBUTSU describes him as reluctant to work.
Despite his name and appearance, Angel Devil is a devil, not an angel. His design includes wings and a halo, creating a visual contrast with his nature and dangerous ability.
What is Angel Devil’s power?
Angel Devil absorbs human lifespan through touch and can use the lifespan he has taken as material to create weapons. The ability makes him a threat even outside a fight: contact can cost another person part of their life. The character profile does not establish specific limits, weapon names, or quantities, so those details should not be assumed.

Why is Angel Devil special?
- A striking contradiction: His angelic design belongs to a devil whose ability takes human lifespan.
- A dangerous power with a human cost: The ability can produce weapons, but it does so by consuming lifespan rather than through an ordinary physical resource.
- An unexpected temperament: His reluctance to work stands in contrast to the severity of his power and his role as a devil hunter.
- Aki’s colleague: His association with Aki Hayakawa places him within the Public Safety team dynamic rather than making him only a standalone power or visual design.
These contrasts make Angel Devil memorable without requiring assumptions about authorial intent: appearance, ability, attitude, and job pull in different directions.
