What is still unknown
The announcement and teaser confirm the project and its relationship to the film, but they do not identify its release timing or production format. They also do not announce a distributor, streaming service, staff slate, or cast. In particular, “season 2” is not a confirmed label: the official description calls this a sequel to the film, without saying whether the next installment will be a television season, another movie, or a different format.

#1 Best Overall
- Release date or window: not announced in the official notices reviewed.
- Format: not specified.
- Streaming destination: not announced for Assassins Arc.
- Staff and cast: not named in those notices.
Those details should not be inferred from the Reze Arc film. Its release and distribution arrangements apply to that film, not automatically to this sequel.
Where the Reze Arc film fits
The preceding installment was a theatrical film. The official global release notice said it would play exclusively in cinemas in more than 80 countries and territories, with Japan’s release listed for September 19, 2025, and other regional dates. That is historical context for the film, not a schedule for Assassins Arc. Official global theatrical release notice.

The official anime site later announced subscription streaming for the Reze Arc film on Prime Video beginning September 19, 2026. The notice says an Amazon Prime membership is required and availability may change without notice. Sony Pictures also lists digital purchase and rental options for the film. Neither notice confirms a streaming home for Assassins Arc. Official Prime Video streaming notice; Sony Pictures film page.

If you want to continue the story in print, the official anime portal’s comics catalog lists Chainsaw Man manga volumes. The reviewed official notices do not say which volume or chapter the new adaptation will cover, so there is no confirmed starting point for reading ahead. Official comics catalog.
