Nick Mason is the clearest Ferrari-focused celebrity collector in the available record: he has discussed several Ferraris in his collection, including a 275 GTB, a GTO, a 250 MM, a 512 S and an F40. Other musicians are linked to notable Ferraris through dated ownership reports or museum and exhibition displays—but those links do not always establish who owns the cars today. There is no reliable global ranking or comparable valuation for celebrity Ferrari collections, so “greatest” is best judged by documented Ferrari depth, significance and public engagement.
How to judge a “greatest” Ferrari collector
A celebrity’s fame or wealth does not show how deep a Ferrari collection is. A more useful comparison looks at the number of distinct Ferraris publicly documented, the cars’ historical or technical importance, and the collector’s connection to driving, racing, preservation or public discussion of the cars. It also separates current ownership from a past acquisition or an exhibition association.
These examples are not a complete census of anyone’s garage. Nor do the available sources establish a defensible ranking by collection value or a combined total. The strongest case is the one supported by specific, attributable evidence—not the largest-sounding estimate.
Nick Mason: the strongest Ferrari-specific case
Pink Floyd drummer and historic racer Nick Mason has spoken directly about his Ferraris. In a Motor Sport Magazine interview published September 15, 2026, he recalled: “My first Ferrari was the 275 GTB four-cam. It was another five years before I could afford the GTO.” The interview also identifies a 250 MM and a 512 S in his collection, and says he bought an F40 new in 1988; Mason described that car as still giving him joy.

Those details make Mason a particularly well-documented Ferrari collector, but they should not be mistaken for a full inventory. His interest also extends beyond Ferrari to historic cars and racing. He has explained the marque’s appeal in personal terms: “Ferrari, for me, has always been all about a number of different things; the history, the sculptural look of the cars, the noise of those V12 engines, and they are still the best looking cars.”
Jay Kay: notable cars, with ownership tied to its date
A February 2011 report from the Automobile Club de l’Ouest, which organizes the 24 Hours of Le Mans, said Jamiroquai singer Jay Kay acquired a 1962 Ferrari 250 GTE 2+2 at Artcurial’s Retromobile sale on February 4, 2011. The report also described a Ferrari Enzo as one of two black cars that were then gems of his collection. This is evidence of what was reported at that time, not confirmation of his present-day holdings. See “Rock stars and rare pearls”.

A 2026 exhibition roundup associates Kay with a LaFerrari as well. That association is worth noting, but an exhibition selection alone does not prove current ownership.
Other musicians associated with Ferraris
A February 23, 2026 Gazzetta Motori roundup of the Enzo Ferrari Museum exhibition The Greatest Hits – Music Legends and their Ferraris names a range of cars associated with music figures. The distinctions matter: a car being associated with a musician or included in an exhibition does not, on its own, establish that person’s current ownership.

The roundup also references Sebastian Vettel in a caption, but the material does not give enough detail to add a specific Ferrari to this list.
Historical context comes from the Design Museum’s “The clients” page for Ferrari: Under the Skin, which identifies Nick Mason’s F40, Steve McQueen’s 275 GTB/4 and Mick Jagger’s GTO delivery among its celebrity-client material. Its archive-photography description also names Clint Eastwood, Sammy Davis Jr, Brigitte Bardot and Peter Sellers. These are historical connections, not proof of present ownership.

Ralph Lauren: a major car collector, not a verified Ferrari inventory
Ralph Lauren is well documented as a major automobile collector whose collection was assembled over decades. Peninsula Classics’ profile of its award judges quotes his view of cars as “moving art” that can also be driven. That supports his broader standing as a collector and his design-led approach; it does not provide a complete current list of his Ferraris. He belongs in a discussion of celebrity car collecting, but the evidence here does not support ranking him by Ferrari holdings.

Collector Peter Holloway is not a celebrity comparison, but his collection offers a clear example of Ferrari-specific focus. In a 2019 profile, Ferrari Magazine described his collection as seven front-engined, manual GT cars with V12 engines, chosen to represent different Ferrari eras.

The same profile says his Carrozzeria Ellena 250 GT Coupé was one of 50 built, with fewer than 20 remaining, and that Ferrari made 150 examples of the 1968 365 GTC. Those production figures concern the cars in Holloway’s collection and Ferrari’s production history; they are not statistics about celebrity collections generally. The contrast is useful: Mason’s documented Ferraris sit within a wider historic-car and racing interest, while Holloway’s seven-car group was deliberately organized around a specific Ferrari type.
Where to see the celebrity-car connections
The Gazzetta Motori report says the Enzo Ferrari Museum’s The Greatest Hits – Music Legends and their Ferraris exhibition runs through February 16, 2027. Its roundup provides the associations above; check the museum’s current schedule and visitor information before planning a visit, as the report itself is not a ticket or opening-hours source.
