Several celebrities have spoken about not driving, but that does not always mean they lack a driver’s license. A 2023 entertainment roundup recounts dated remarks from Tina Fey, Christina Aguilera, Ed Sheeran and Kate Beckinsale; it does not establish who remains unlicensed today. The distinction matters: Aguilera reportedly held a license while avoiding driving, and Sheeran later said he passed his test.

Christina Aguilera: licensed, but not driving
Aguilera is the clearest example of why the distinction matters. The roundup says she told Jimmy Kimmel in May 2011, “I don’t drive,” while also reporting that she had obtained a driver’s license at 21. She described being “terrified of driving in L.A.” That is evidence of avoiding driving, not of lacking a license.
Tina Fey: a reported decision not to keep a license
The roundup says Fey told Jerry Seinfeld during a January 2014 appearance on Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, “I don’t have a license anymore.” It attributes her explanation to her New York City lifestyle: she did not feel she needed to drive. The wording describes what she said then; it does not confirm her current status.

Why older claims can become outdated
Ed Sheeran: a later change is documented
The roundup reports that Sheeran said in 2014 he could not drive, then tweeted in 2015, “Passed my driving test yesterday.” His example shows why an earlier statement cannot safely be treated as a lasting status.
Kate Beckinsale: the record here is limited
Beckinsale’s reported comment that she could not drive dates to a 2013 interview. The 2023 roundup does not provide newer confirmation, so it cannot establish whether she later learned to drive or obtained a license.

Barbra Streisand stopped driving, according to the report
The roundup describes Streisand as having driven for a long time before choosing to stop after an incident she recounted on The Late Late Show in 2018. That account concerns a decision to stop driving; it does not say she never had a license or establish that she currently lacks one.
Teddi Mellencamp described anxiety on familiar routes
A 2020 Instagram post, as summarized by the roundup, indicated that Mellencamp’s anxiety limited her to familiar routes. That points to constrained driving, not proof that she did not have a license.

Can we say these celebrities still do not have a license?
No—not on the basis of this roundup alone. It was published in 2023 and relays remarks made as far back as 2011; it does not supply current, primary-source confirmation for the people it mentions. The most accurate description is that Fey reportedly said she no longer had a license in 2014, while Aguilera reportedly had one but did not drive in 2011. Sheeran’s reported 2015 test pass is a documented change, and the older Beckinsale remark does not settle her present status.
