- Separate the categories. A facelift or liposuction is surgery; Botox and fillers are injectables; laser treatment is not surgery. Broad entertainment headlines may group them together, but the terms are not interchangeable.
- Look for an attributable disclosure. A person’s own interview or statement is stronger than speculation based on photographs. When relying on a report, identify the outlet and the context it describes.
- Do not treat an anecdote as medical guidance. A celebrity account does not establish what another person should choose or what results they can expect.
