Catherine Zeta-Jones marked Michael Douglas’s 80th birthday on September 25, 2024, with a black-and-white image and a playful caption about running out of gift ideas. Us Weekly reported that she called the image “gift option two,” after golf balls.
What Zeta-Jones reportedly posted for Douglas’s birthday
Us Weekly reported that Zeta-Jones shared a black-and-white birthday image for Douglas on Instagram and captioned it: “In my birthday suit! After over 25 years of sharing my birthday day with my husband, I am running out of gift ideas! This is gift option two, golf balls being option one … of course.”

The caption’s joke is that the image itself served as another birthday gift after golf balls. The report does not identify a golf-ball brand or indicate that the mention was an endorsement. The original post was not independently verified here, so its wording and details are attributed to Us Weekly.
Why they celebrated on the same day
Douglas and Zeta-Jones were both born on September 25. On September 25, 2024, Douglas turned 80 and Zeta-Jones turned 55, according to Us Weekly and E! News. The shared date explains her reference to more than 25 years of birthday celebrations together.
