Catherine Zeta-Jones marked her shared birthday with Michael Douglas on September 25, 2024, by posting a black-and-white photo she jokingly called “gift option two.” In the reported image, she poses by a bathroom mirror wearing black heels; her caption named golf balls as the first gift idea.
What was in Catherine Zeta-Jones’s birthday post?
Contemporaneous coverage reported that Zeta-Jones shared the photo on Instagram on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, the birthday she shares with her husband, Michael Douglas. She turned 55 that day, while Douglas turned 80, according to Us Weekly and E! News.
PureWow described the image as black and white, with Zeta-Jones in black heels in a bathroom. E! News characterized it as a throwback, but the reports do not establish when the photograph was originally taken.
What did her caption say?
Us Weekly and PureWow quoted the opening line as “In my birthday suit!” Zeta-Jones then joked that after more than 25 years of sharing her birthday with Douglas, she was running out of gift ideas. She called the photo “gift option two” and golf balls “option one.”
