Rolling Stone Canada published its report on August 7, 2024, with update notes dated July 22, August 5 and August 7. The article’s “more” refers to a changing set of public reactions as celebrities responded to Harris’s campaign; it is not an official campaign roster or evidence that the people named were coordinating with her campaign. What Cardi B and Barbra Streisand said
Cardi B
Rolling Stone reported that Cardi B said she had always thought Harris “should’ve been the 2024 candidate.” The article also quoted Cardi B’s post: “Stop playing wit me!!” Those were expressions of her support and view of the race, not a claim of campaign coordination.
Barbra Streisand
Streisand said Harris would “continue Joe Biden’s work and will be a great president.” Rolling Stone also quoted Streisand criticizing Donald Trump; those characterizations belong to Streisand and should be understood as her political opinion.

Did Charli XCX endorse Harris?
Her post was widely treated as an endorsement when it appeared. Rolling Stone reported that Charli XCX wrote on X, “Kamala IS brat,” a reference to her album and its cultural moment. The post drew media attention and a campaign-facing response.
But Charli later clarified that she did not intend the post as an endorsement. In an August 26, 2024, Los Angeles Times report, she described it as “something positive and lighthearted.” She also said, “I’m not Bob Dylan, and I’ve never pretended to be,” and “My music is not political.” Read the Los Angeles Times report.

That clarification did not mean she was indifferent to the issues. The Times also quoted her saying, “To be on the right side of democracy, the right side of women’s rights, is hugely important to me,” and “I’m happy to help to prevent democracy from failing forever.” The most accurate summary is that her post was initially interpreted as support for Harris, while Charli later said it was not intended as a formal political endorsement.

Celebrity support can attract attention and may help campaigns energize audiences or encourage turnout. But visibility is not proof that a particular post or endorsement changed votes. In an October 31, 2024, Associated Press report, campaign hopes for star power were set alongside the possibility that celebrity events would not resolve broader campaign challenges; the article did not establish a causal effect for the figures discussed here. The three cases are therefore best distinguished by what each person actually did: Cardi B and Streisand made direct statements of support, while Charli’s brief post was widely read that way before she clarified her intent. The reporting cited here does not establish how many voters, if any, changed their views because of these reactions.
