When was the divorce petition filed?
The dates distinguish the filing from its public confirmation: CBS reported that the petition was filed Wednesday, July 31, 2024. The representative’s confirmation and Cardi B’s pregnancy announcement followed on Thursday, August 1. So the filing itself was not made the same day the pregnancy was announced, even though both developments became public on August 1.

The representative told the press, “This is not based on any one particular incident, it has been a long time coming and is amicable.” That is the representative’s description of the filing, not an independently established account of the relationship or court proceedings. CBS reported the statement and filing chronology in its coverage.
Does the filing mean Cardi B and Offset were divorced?
No. A divorce petition is a filing to begin or pursue a legal process; it does not establish that a court has finalized a divorce. The reports about the August 2024 announcement confirm the filing, but do not establish the proceeding’s current legal status. They are news reports, not court records.

What happened after the announcement?
