Marshall Rose, the real estate developer and husband of actor Candice Bergen, died on February 15, 2025, at age 88. TV Insider reported that the cause was complications with Parkinson’s disease. Bergen and Rose married in 2000.

Who was Marshall Rose?
Rose was a real estate developer, civic leader and nonprofit adviser. TV Insider reports that he founded The Georgetown Company in 1978 and was involved in civic and philanthropic work, including work with the New York Public Library.
The same report identifies Wendi and Andrew as Rose’s children with his first wife, Jill, and Candice Bergen’s daughter, Chloe, as his stepdaughter.

How long were Candice Bergen and Marshall Rose married?
Bergen and Rose married in 2000. Biography.com’s account of Bergen’s life gives the month as June, making their marriage nearly 25 years long when Rose died.
Bergen was previously married to French filmmaker Louis Malle, who died in 1995. She published her second memoir, A Fine Romance, in 2015; Biography.com notes the book as part of her life story, not as a memorial to Rose.

TV Insider reproduced a passage from Rose’s obituary describing him as “a profoundly good man” whose friends and colleagues looked to him as a mentor. The obituary also remembered his “fierce compassion” and “commitment to cheering on the Knicks.”
