Yes. Google Play India lists UPI AutoPay as a payment option for recurring subscriptions and specifically gives monthly YouTube Premium as an example. Whether it is available to you depends on the billing route and the options shown in your own YouTube membership checkout.
“YouTube streaming server subscription” does not appear to be a separate YouTube product in the official help information. If you mean the monthly subscription for watching YouTube without ads and using Premium benefits, the relevant service is YouTube Premium.
When UPI AutoPay works for YouTube Premium
Google Play Help’s India payment-method guidance says recurring subscription payments can be made with UPI AutoPay through a mandate, and names monthly YouTube Premium as an example. That confirms the payment method can support this use case; it does not guarantee that every account, signup route, or existing membership will offer it.
YouTube Help says new YouTube Premium and YouTube Music Premium subscribers who signed up on Android have been billed through Google Play since 2022. Billing route matters: YouTube directs members to manage payment preferences from their membership, while subscriptions started in the iOS app are managed through iTunes. Check the actual payment options in your account rather than assuming the same methods appear for every route.

How to check and set up UPI AutoPay
- Open YouTube Premium’s membership or payment flow. Start the signup or open the payment-management area for your membership. YouTube’s help page is titled “Change or upgrade your YouTube Premium or YouTube Music Premium membership.”
- Check the billing route and available methods. Confirm whether the checkout is through Google Play and whether it explicitly offers UPI AutoPay. If that option is not displayed, the available evidence does not establish that you can force the account onto Google Play billing or switch an existing subscription to it.
- Choose UPI AutoPay if it is offered. Continue to the UPI app and authorize the recurring-payment mandate. Review the amount and frequency shown before confirming; Google’s example is a monthly YouTube Premium subscription, but the actual checkout amount and options are account-specific.
- Keep the mandate details. Google Pay says a mandate specifies details such as amount, frequency, or duration. Check its terms before authorizing so you know what recurring debit you are approving.
UPI AutoPay authorization, notifications, and cancellation
Google Pay Help’s “Manage AutoPay” guidance says a recurring payment below ₹15,000 requires UPI PIN entry when setting up the mandate. For a payment above ₹15,000, PIN approval is required for each payment. Do not interpret setup approval as a blanket rule that no further authorization will ever be needed.
Google Pay says it sends an advance debit notification within 24 hours before a bank debit. It also says you can revoke a mandate; after revocation, the merchant cannot debit funds under that mandate. Revoking the UPI mandate and managing or cancelling the YouTube membership are distinct actions, so use YouTube’s membership controls to check the subscription’s status and billing arrangements as well.

If UPI AutoPay is not shown
- Check where the subscription is billed. The Google Play India example applies to Google Play recurring payments. Another signup or billing route may show different payment choices.
- For an Android signup, inspect the checkout itself. YouTube says new Android signups for Premium and Music Premium have used Google Play billing since 2022, but that does not establish eligibility or available options for every account.
- For an existing membership, do not assume you can change routes. The official help information does not guarantee that every member can switch an existing subscription to Google Play billing. Follow the payment options and instructions shown for that membership.
- Distinguish UPI AutoPay from card e-mandates. Google’s India guidance about RBI-related card automatic-payment prompts concerns card mandates; it is separate from Google Play’s stated UPI AutoPay example for monthly YouTube Premium.
