Usually, a Community Guidelines warning by itself does not automatically stop a YouTube channel from livestreaming. YouTube says a channel must be verified and must have had no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. A strike or a separate live-stream restriction can block access, so check the notice in YouTube Studio to confirm your channel’s status.
Does a warning stop you from going live?
Not automatically. YouTube distinguishes a Community Guidelines warning from a live-streaming restriction. The warning label alone does not tell you whether your channel currently has live access: eligibility also depends on channel verification and whether YouTube has restricted livestreaming.
YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance says creators need a verified channel and no live-streaming restrictions in the past 90 days. If YouTube has restricted your live access, the restriction notice in Studio is the practical account-specific answer.
Warning, strike, and live restriction: what is the difference?
Community Guidelines warning
YouTube says a first Community Guidelines violation is typically a warning. Some warnings offer optional policy training, but not all do. If training is available and you complete it, the warning expires 90 days after completion. The 90-day period starts when training is completed, not when the warning was issued.

Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
If you violate the same policy during that period, the warning may not expire and YouTube may issue a strike. A violation of a different policy after training may result in another warning. See YouTube’s Community Guidelines strikes guidance for the details.
Strike or separate live-stream restriction
A strike can include a temporary restriction on posting, which may include livestreaming. YouTube also says a strike on an active or archived livestream may disable live access. Other policy enforcement can restrict livestreaming separately. The precise consequence depends on the enforcement notice on your channel; do not assume that every warning, strike, or policy case has the same live-stream outcome.

How to check whether your channel can livestream
- Open YouTube Studio and check the Channel violations card. Review whether the notice is a warning or a strike, what policy it concerns, and whether it mentions a live-stream restriction or a time period.
- Check the live-streaming eligibility and verification requirements. YouTube requires channel verification and no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. If your channel is not verified, complete verification before treating a failed live attempt as a warning-related block.
- Read any live-access notice in Studio or YouTube’s notification. This is the best indicator of the status of your specific channel. Public policy pages cannot reveal a particular account’s private enforcement status.
- If access appears available, try the normal live setup on your own channel. If YouTube shows a restriction, follow the notice rather than trying to route around it.
What to do if YouTube has restricted live access
Appeal if the warning or strike is mistaken
YouTube says warnings and strikes can be appealed within six months of issuance through the Channel violations card in YouTube Studio. Use the appeal option on the relevant notice and explain why you believe the enforcement was incorrect. Deleting the video does not clear a strike. YouTube’s appeal guidance explains the process.
Do not livestream from another channel to get around the restriction
YouTube prohibits using another channel to livestream while a live-streaming restriction is active. Circumventing the restriction may lead to account termination. Wait for the restriction to end or pursue the appeal route; do not use a second channel as a workaround. See YouTube’s live-streaming rules.

Common situations and what they mean
| What you see | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| A warning, with no live-stream restriction shown | The warning alone does not establish that live access is blocked. | Check verification and your current live eligibility in Studio. |
| A warning with optional policy training | Training is available for that warning; completing it starts the 90-day expiry period. | Decide whether to complete the offered training and avoid repeating the same policy violation during the period. |
| A strike or a notice that live access is disabled | Your channel may have an active live-stream restriction. | Follow the restriction notice and appeal if you believe the enforcement is wrong. |
| Another channel is available to use | A different channel is not a permitted workaround while the restriction remains active. | Do not use it to livestream around the restriction. |
Does a streaming service change the answer?
No. A streaming service cannot remove a Community Guidelines warning, establish account eligibility, or override a YouTube restriction. StreamNeo is a separate cloud service for keeping a YouTube livestream running from uploaded videos; it does not determine whether YouTube has authorized your channel to go live. Check your channel’s status in StreamNeo only after you have confirmed that YouTube permits the stream.
If you are eligible and want to loop uploaded video without leaving a computer running, StreamNeo’s flow is to upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. It is for YouTube streams of uploaded videos, not camera broadcasts. You can start a free first day without a card at StreamNeo registration.
