Recommended Free Tools
No—not as a free standalone subscription. Netflix says it does not offer free trials in the United States. The legitimate way to watch without a separate Netflix charge is to use a qualifying paid phone, internet, or TV package that includes Netflix. T-Mobile’s Netflix On Us is a clear example, but eligible Xfinity packages can also include it, so it is not the only route.
Here, “free” means included at no additional charge while you keep paying for an eligible service. Availability and terms vary by plan and can change; check the provider’s current offer before switching or signing up.

Does Netflix offer a free trial?
No. Netflix’s Help Center says it does not offer free trials. Pages advertising a general U.S. 30-day Netflix trial may be outdated or misleading. Netflix’s U.S. sign-up page presents paid plans; an ad-supported plan is still a subscription, not a free account.
This answer is about U.S. offers. A promotion reported in another country does not establish that it is available to U.S. customers.

What “free Netflix” usually means
- Included with a paid service: A wireless, internet, or TV package covers a Netflix tier while you maintain qualifying service. You still pay for the package.
- A promotional credit: A provider may cover the cost for a limited period, after which charges may begin. Read the offer’s end date and billing terms.
- Someone else’s household account: This is not an independently obtained free subscription and remains subject to Netflix’s household rules.
- Unofficial codes, password sellers, or account generators: These are not legitimate ways to get Netflix and may expose your account or payment information to fraud.
T-Mobile Netflix On Us: the clearest carrier example
T-Mobile currently lists Netflix Standard with ads at no additional charge for eligible customers who maintain a qualifying line. The company values the included benefit at up to $8.99 per month; that is T-Mobile’s stated value, not cash paid to the customer. Its current eligibility details are on the Netflix On Us offer page.
Who may qualify
T-Mobile lists eligibility for customers with two or more lines on qualifying Go5G or Magenta plans, and for customers with at least one line on Experience More, Experience Beyond, Go5G Next, Go5G Plus, or Magenta MAX. Certain Military, 55+, and First Responder plan variants may also qualify. Plan names and eligibility are subject to change, so verify your exact plan and line count with T-Mobile.

What the benefit includes
- The included tier is Standard with ads, not automatically ad-free Standard or Premium.
- T-Mobile says this tier supports viewing on up to two devices in a household at the same time.
- An upgrade to a higher Netflix tier may be available for an extra charge through T-Mobile. Check the amount shown in your account rather than assuming an upgrade is covered.
- T-Mobile generally provides one Netflix On Us benefit per account.
- You must activate the benefit; having an eligible plan does not necessarily link Netflix automatically.
How to activate it
- Sign in to My T-Mobile on the website or in the app.
- Open Account.
- Select Manage add-ons beside the primary account holder’s line.
- Choose Manage data & add-ons, then open Services.
- Select Netflix and follow the prompts to link your existing Netflix account or create one.
- Check both your Netflix account and T-Mobile account to confirm the link and billing arrangement.
If you already pay Netflix directly, avoid creating a second account during activation. T-Mobile says an existing account can take one or two billing cycles to transfer, so check for separate Netflix charges while the change completes. If Netflix does not appear in Services, confirm plan and line eligibility with T-Mobile before trying to enroll again.
If you leave T-Mobile
The benefit depends on keeping the qualifying line. Ending that line may not cancel Netflix membership automatically: T-Mobile’s terms say Netflix may resume charging a payment method previously associated with the account. Check Netflix’s billing page after leaving the plan and cancel there if you do not want the membership to continue.

Xfinity packages can also include Netflix
Netflix’s instructions for Comcast Xfinity confirm that eligible U.S. packages can include Netflix or allow customers to add it. The package itself is paid, and the included Netflix tier depends on the specific offer. Confirm eligibility and the tier with Xfinity before assuming a package covers your current subscription.
For activation, Netflix says customers can launch Netflix from an Xfinity X1 cable box and follow the prompts to link an existing account or create one. If you already have Netflix billing, check whether it transfers to the package and whether any separate charge remains.

Verizon: distinguish included packages from paid perks
Netflix says it may be included in or added to eligible Verizon packages; see its Verizon package instructions for account linking. Verizon’s older promotion that paired an annual subscription purchase with a year of Netflix is listed as no longer available in its +play promotional FAQs.
Verizon also lists a Netflix Standard with ads and HBO Max Basic with ads perk for eligible customers at $13 per month, according to its Netflix and HBO Max perk FAQ. That is a paid bundle, not free Netflix. Check whether the perk is billed by Verizon or another provider and whether your current Netflix account is still charging you separately.

How to decide whether a bundle is worth it
Compare the full cost of the phone, internet, or TV package with what you would otherwise pay. A Netflix benefit valued by a provider at up to $8.99 per month does not necessarily make a higher-cost wireless plan a saving. Likewise, an Xfinity or Verizon package may cost more than a standalone Netflix subscription if you do not need the underlying service.
- Would you choose the provider’s service even without Netflix?
- Does the qualifying plan require additional lines, a higher tier, or a commitment you do not otherwise want?
- Is the included Netflix tier suitable for you, including its ads and viewing limits?
- Who will bill Netflix after activation, and what happens if you cancel or change the provider plan?
- Are there switching, device-financing, taxes, or other costs that change the total?
If you prefer your current phone and internet providers, paying Netflix directly may be simpler than switching for a bundled benefit. Netflix’s U.S. plan prices can change; check its live sign-up page before comparing monthly costs.
