Usually, if you already own a suitable PC and mean watching three YouTube playlists at once—but it depends on resolution, the specific computer, your electricity rate and your internet plan. Playback is not the same as broadcasting: three viewers’ streams primarily need download capacity, while sending continuous feeds to YouTube needs upload capacity and can create cloud-compute and outbound-transfer costs. Can a low-power PC handle three simultaneous playbacks?
It can, depending on the exact machine, video resolution, browser and codec, and whether video decoding is handled efficiently. The available evidence does not include a controlled test of a named mini PC running three concurrent YouTube playlist sessions, so no particular product or processor class can be guaranteed to work at a chosen setting.
Before committing to a machine, test the actual workload: open the three videos at the resolutions and frame rates you expect to use, keep them playing together, and check for dropped frames, stuttering, excessive CPU or graphics load, and heat-related slowdowns. How much internet capacity do three playbacks need?
YouTube Help gives approximate sustained-speed recommendations of 5 Mbps for 1080p, 2.5 Mbps for 720p, and 20 Mbps for 4K. Multiplying those per-video figures by three gives a planning baseline—not a measurement or guarantee:

Actual video traffic varies, so the arithmetic is a starting point rather than a promised minimum.

Work out the local PC’s real cost
If you already own a PC that can do the job, begin with the additional cost of running it for this purpose. Measure the whole setup at the wall while all three sessions run—not just the processor. Include a monitor or other equipment if it must remain on.
- Run the intended three-playback workload long enough to represent normal use.
- Measure the average power draw of the complete setup in watts with a plug-in wall meter.
- Estimate a 30-day month of electricity:
(average watts ÷ 1,000) × 720 × local price per kWh. - Add any incremental internet or data charges. If buying a PC specifically for this, also account for its purchase price over an explicit useful-life period, maintenance and eventual replacement.
The 720 factor represents 30 days × 24 hours. Your electricity result depends on measured consumption and your local tariff; it is not a universal monthly figure. Do not substitute processor TDP or the power-supply label for whole-system wall measurement.

Is cloud playback cheaper?
Not necessarily. A cloud computer that opens YouTube videos still needs an output path so you can watch them. Depending on the setup, that could mean remote-desktop traffic or another delivery method, with its own costs and performance limits. A meaningful comparison must identify the cloud machine or managed service, region, operating hours, output method, transfer volume and who pays for outbound traffic. No directly comparable cloud-playback tariff is established here, so there is no supported universal price comparison for watching three playlists.
For an existing local PC, electricity may be the main incremental expense. For a new purchase, include hardware ownership costs too. A cloud option may add compute and delivery charges; compare actual published rates for the specific setup rather than assuming that “cloud” is cheaper or more expensive in every case.

Why continuous-broadcast cost examples do not answer the playback question
A third-party article by CloudsPress Team, dated August 8, 2026, gives an illustrative U.S.-assumption example of $7.82 per month in electricity for a 60 W local system and $196.06 per month for an AWS t3.medium running one continuous 6 Mbps broadcast. Those are the article’s scenario figures, not independently verified quotes, universal prices or estimates for watching three playlists. Its own comparison notes that region, electricity tariff, hardware and other charges can change the result. Read the article’s stated assumptions and caveats before applying either number.
Likewise, discussion of N100 mini PCs in a third-party guide concerns a 24/7 broadcast context; it does not establish a three-playback benchmark. A practical way to choose
- Already own a PC: test all three videos at the target settings, measure wall power, and calculate the marginal electricity and data cost.
- Considering a new PC: verify performance under the real workload and compare total ownership cost, not only advertised processor power.
- Considering cloud playback: first specify how the video reaches you and who pays for that traffic; compare the complete delivery cost with local playback.
- Actually broadcasting prerecorded videos continuously to YouTube: evaluate a broadcast workflow separately, including upload reliability, cloud compute and egress where relevant.
