Yes—if you want to send the same OBS program to two YouTube live events. You can configure the Multiple RTMP Outputs plugin to send that feed to both destinations, using the stream URL and key for each event. That is different from producing two separate streams with different visuals or audio: the sources available do not establish that one OBS instance can reliably create independent programs for each output.
First decide what “two streams” means
For a relaxation channel, two destinations might mean a duplicate broadcast—identical video and sound on two YouTube events—or two distinct programs, such as a rain loop on one event and a fireplace video on the other. The multiple-output workflow below addresses the first case. Do not assume that adding destinations also gives each one its own scenes, video, or audio.
- Same program, two events: multiple RTMP outputs are intended to send an OBS output to multiple ingestion destinations.
- Different programs: independent per-output scene and audio routing is not established here. Test the exact software configuration before relying on it.
- Same event, two viewing formats: YouTube’s horizontal/vertical dual-stream feature may suit viewers who want different formats, but it is one event with a shared URL and live chat—not two independently programmed streams. YouTube: Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.
Check YouTube’s concurrent-stream limits
YouTube’s current “Get started with live streaming” help page allows up to 10 active streams per channel and 3 active streams per stream key, concurrently. Both limits apply; reaching either can prevent another stream from starting. YouTube: Get started with live streaming.
For two destinations, create or schedule two events in YouTube Studio and use each event’s own destination details. A stream key is sensitive: YouTube describes keys as “like your YouTube stream’s password and address.” Protect it, and reset it if it is compromised; YouTube says only a channel owner or manager can reset a key. Send the same OBS program to two YouTube events
- Create the events: In YouTube Studio, open the Live Control Room and create or schedule two live events. For each, note its stream URL and stream key. Keep the keys private.
- Check software compatibility: Confirm that the Multiple RTMP Outputs plugin supports your installed OBS version and operating system before installing or updating it. OBS’s compatibility table lists the plugin for OBS Studio 28 on Windows, Intel macOS, and Apple macOS, but that table was published on 2022-08-31 and does not confirm compatibility with current OBS builds. - Add both destinations: In the plugin’s output settings, add one destination for each event and enter that event’s server URL and stream key. The plugin’s ability to send output to multiple RTMP ingestion points is described in OBS community guidance; the available evidence does not establish current official plugin documentation for every version. - Start and inspect the feeds: Start the configured OBS output or outputs. In YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room, check the preview and stream health for both events, then use the Live Control Room’s workflow to go live. - Test before scheduling a public broadcast: Confirm that both events show the intended picture and sound. Test the exact OBS version, plugin version, and operating system you plan to use; do not treat an old compatibility listing or a forum discussion as confirmation of your current setup.
Check bandwidth and encoder settings
Two destinations can increase the upload demand, depending on how the outputs are configured. Check the bitrate of each feed and whether your encoder and connection can sustain the combined workload. YouTube publishes recommended bitrate ranges by codec, resolution, and frame rate; choose the relevant values for your actual settings rather than relying on a universal upload-speed figure. The necessary capacity cannot be determined without your computer, network, encoder configuration, and chosen output settings. Make a test broadcast and watch both destinations’ stream health before depending on the setup for a scheduled relaxation stream.

If each stream needs different visuals or audio
Do not assume that two plugin destinations are two separate OBS productions. The available guidance supports duplicating an output to multiple ingest endpoints. One user report describes a scene change affecting both destinations, but that single report does not establish behavior across all plugin versions. OBS community discussion of multiple outputs and scenes.
Current support for independent per-output scenes or audio is unresolved in the sources available here. If separate programs are essential, verify that the current plugin documentation explicitly supports the routing you need, then run a private or unlisted test. Change the scene and audio on one output and confirm that the other remains unchanged. If it does not, the single-OBS duplicate-output method does not meet your requirement.

Common problems and what to check
- You cannot start another event: Check the channel’s active-stream count and the number using that stream key. YouTube’s limits are 10 per channel and 3 per key, concurrently. YouTube’s live-stream limits.
- One event has no incoming video: Confirm that its plugin destination uses that event’s correct server URL and key, then inspect its preview in the Live Control Room.
- The two events show the same scene or sound: That is consistent with sending one OBS program to both destinations. Independent output routing must be verified for your exact configuration; do not infer it from the number of destinations.
- One or both feeds are unstable: Review the selected codec, resolution, frame rate, and bitrate against YouTube’s encoder recommendations, then test the connection and computer under the intended workload. YouTube’s encoder recommendations.
- The plugin does not appear or work after an OBS update: Check compatibility for the current OBS build, operating system, and plugin version. The cited OBS compatibility table covers OBS 28 and is dated 2022-08-31; it is not a guarantee for newer builds. OBS compatibility table.
- A key may have been exposed: Reset the stream key in YouTube Studio if you are the channel owner or manager, then update the relevant encoder destination. YouTube stream-key guidance.
