What’s actually slowing this PC down?

Short answer: CameraFi Live is the closer fit if you want mobile production with overlays and a prerecorded clip in the composition. Larix Broadcaster is the clearer choice for sending live camera video from a phone to YouTube. Neither app’s reviewed official documentation confirms hands-free, continuous looping of a stored video as the main stream source. If a dependable loop is essential, verify it on your exact device and app version before relying on either app.
What the comparison actually comes down to
Adding a video clip to a live production is not the same as playing a file as the uninterrupted primary source, then restarting it seamlessly at the end. That distinction matters if you want a prerecorded documentary or other footage to run on YouTube without someone manually restarting it.
| Decision point | CameraFi Live | Larix Broadcaster |
|---|---|---|
| Documented role | Mobile live-production app with broadcast overlays, camera and other sources; YouTube is a listed destination. CameraFi product information | Mobile live-capture and encoder app for video and audio, publishing through protocols including RTMP and SRT. Softvelum’s Larix page |
| Evidence for prerecorded files | CameraFi’s guide and FAQ describe adding video files or broadcasting prerecorded video through an overlay feature. This does not establish full-screen file playout or seamless looping. CameraFi guide · CameraFi FAQ | The reviewed product and YouTube encoder pages describe live capture, streaming and recording; they do not document selecting and looping a stored video file. Softvelum · YouTube encoder help |
| Best-supported fit | Overlay-oriented mobile production, including a stream that contains a prerecorded clip as an overlay. | Live phone-camera contribution and encoder-style publishing to YouTube. |
| Looping established? | No: continuous looping, restart at end-of-file and hands-free operation are not established by the reviewed official documentation. | No: stored-file playout and continuous looping are not established by the reviewed official documentation. |
Which app should you choose?
Choose CameraFi Live for an overlay-based production
CameraFi is the more relevant of the two when you want to build a mobile live composition with overlays and include prerecorded material within it. Its documentation describes video-file and prerecorded-video overlay use. It does not prove that the clip will fill the broadcast, play continuously as the main source, or restart automatically when it ends.
Choose Larix Broadcaster for live phone-camera encoding
Larix is the clearer match when the source is a live phone camera and you want to publish through an encoder workflow. Softvelum documents RTMP and SRT publishing, and YouTube lists Larix among its mobile encoders. Recording support does not demonstrate stored-file streaming or a loop feature.
#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Choose neither as a confirmed unattended looping player
The official pages reviewed do not establish that either app can play a stored file as the primary YouTube source in a continuous, hands-free loop. If that is the deciding requirement, do not treat an overlay feature or camera encoder as proof of looping. Test the exact workflow, or use a separate playout method whose repeat behavior is explicitly documented.
Set up and test before a long broadcast
CameraFi Live and YouTube
- Enable YouTube live streaming. CameraFi’s YouTube setup guide says the channel must have live streaming enabled and be verified. Its guide says first-time activation may take up to 24 hours. Check current YouTube eligibility and interface details, since platform rules can change. CameraFi YouTube setup guide
- Connect the account and configure the broadcast. Follow CameraFi’s current in-app YouTube connection and broadcast setup flow. Its tutorial describes “Go Live Now” and “Event” choices; confirm the current options and eligibility in YouTube before scheduling or starting.
- Add the prerecorded clip only with the right expectation. CameraFi describes prerecorded video through an overlay feature. Confirm whether it appears as an overlay or as the full-screen source; do not assume it becomes a continuous file playout system. CameraFi FAQ
Larix Broadcaster and YouTube
- Get the YouTube stream destination. Create or configure the live broadcast in YouTube and obtain its RTMP server URL and stream key.
- Enter the destination in Larix. Softvelum’s instructions describe entering the YouTube RTMP server URL and stream key in Larix. Configure video plus audio for YouTube, as its setup documentation recommends. Larix setup documentation
- Start a camera-based test. YouTube lists Larix as a supported mobile encoder. That confirms its encoder role, not file-loop functionality. YouTube encoder help

- Is the clip the main full-screen source or an overlay?
- Does playback restart at the end, and does it do so without a gap?
- Does the app continue when the phone locks or the app is backgrounded?
- What happens during an incoming call, network interruption or app reconnect?
- Does audio remain present and synchronized with the video?
- Does the planned stream duration fit YouTube’s current limits and your channel’s eligibility?
The reviewed official pages do not publish long-duration loop reliability results. Treat a short successful preview as a check of that test, not proof of unattended operation over a longer broadcast.
Copyright and channel considerations
CameraFi’s FAQ cautions that using another person’s content can raise copyright concerns. Having a file on your phone, or being able to add it to a broadcast, does not give you the right to stream it. Use footage you own or have permission to broadcast, and check YouTube’s current policies before going live. CameraFi FAQ
