Bunnie XO said her 2018 breakup with Jelly Roll, her move back to Las Vegas and his effort to get her back preceded a deeper commitment. In a TikTok caption posted March 28, 2024, she described the experience as part of the couple’s “wild journey called life”—her retrospective account, not proof that the split alone caused their growth. The story also needs a later update: the Associated Press reported in June 2026 that Jelly Roll had filed for divorce.
What Bunnie XO said about the 2018 breakup
Us Weekly reported that Bunnie reflected on the breakup in a TikTok caption posted Thursday, March 28, 2024. She wrote: “Who knew us breaking up in 2018, me moving back to Vegas & you coming to get me back – would have put us on this wild journey called life.”
Her account gives the sequence she chose to emphasize: they split, she returned to Las Vegas, and Jelly Roll came to get her back. The coverage does not establish why they broke up, how long they were apart or the private circumstances surrounding the separation.
How she described their renewed commitment
In the same caption, Bunnie wrote: “We finally committed to each other & did everything we promised each other the first night in 2016. Our castle in the sand had to crumble so we could rebuild on solid ground. I yuh you so muchhh.”

- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
That language presents the breakup as a turning point in her own telling: the relationship had to be rebuilt on firmer ground before they followed through on promises they had made. Us Weekly reports that they married in 2016 and renewed their vows seven years later. Those milestones provide context for the reflection, but they do not reveal every detail of what changed between them.
For the exact caption wording, see Us Weekly’s March 28, 2024 report. A separate account by Whiskey Riff lightly edits the closing of the caption, so the wording above follows Us Weekly’s transcription.

What her earlier comments add—and what they do not
Whiskey Riff also quoted a remark Bunnie made on a 2021 podcast about marrying young and learning each other through growing pains. It offers context for her broader theme of learning and commitment; it is not a detailed explanation of the 2018 breakup’s cause.
In a September 2023 post also quoted by Us Weekly, Bunnie described the years before it as a “whirlwind dark fairytale” and said they had worked to address childhood trauma and learn healthier love. Those are her descriptions of their experience, not independently verified details about the breakup.

The later legal update
The 2024 reflection should not be read as a statement of the couple’s current marital status. On June 16, 2026, the Associated Press reported that Jelly Roll filed for divorce in Tennessee. AP said the filing cited irreconcilable differences and listed May 9 as the separation date. A filing is a legal step; AP’s report does not establish that the divorce was finalized.
AP also reported that Bunnie’s memoir, Stripped Down: Unfiltered and Unapologetic, was released in February 2026. The reporting cited here does not establish that the book specifically recounts the 2018 breakup.
