Where and when was the final show?
The last concert took place at Milan’s Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on June 30, 2025. Rolling Stone described the 2023–25 run as 29 months, six legs and 130 concerts. Those are the publication’s reported totals, rather than independently audited figures. Rolling Stone’s report on the finale recounts the closing moment.

What song did Springsteen use to close the Milan show?
Springsteen finished with “Rockin’ All Over The World,” John Fogerty’s 1975 song. After “Chimes of Freedom,” the expected closing sequence shifted: Springsteen put his guitar back on, called, “Key of B, boys. Key of B,” and launched into the song. Though Fogerty wrote it, the 1977 Status Quo cover helped make it especially familiar to European audiences.
Why had the song become a tour-finale choice?
Springsteen had used the song at several earlier tour endings, giving the Milan performance a history beyond its place in the night’s set. Rolling Stone points to the final Working on a Dream Tour concert in Buffalo in 2009, the Helsinki concert that ended the 2012 European tour, and the last US show of the 2016 River Tour. The song did not occupy the same position in every finale: in Helsinki it opened the show.
#1 Best Overall
Buffalo, 2009
The song appeared at the final Working on a Dream Tour concert in Buffalo on November 22, 2009. JamBase reports that the official concert recording includes it in the setlist; the show was also Clarence Clemons’s last public appearance with the band. JamBase’s account of the Buffalo concert documents those details.
Helsinki, 2012
Springsteen’s official archive identifies the Helsinki performance as the European-tour finale and records “Rockin’ All Over The World” as the opening song in a 33-song set. The concert lasted more than four hours. The archive calls it Springsteen’s longest show to date in its 2017 account. The official Helsinki concert archive preserves the setlist and description.

The River Tour, 2016
Rolling Stone also identifies the song as the closer of the River Tour’s final US show. Together, these appearances help explain why it was a fitting choice for the Milan ending, without implying that every tour finale followed an identical setlist or arrangement.
Did the tour ending mean Springsteen was retiring?
No retirement announcement accompanied the Milan finale. In a Rolling Stone interview reported July 4, 2025, Springsteen said he expected that “we’ll probably be touring more often, but with fewer dates.” That was his outlook at the time, not confirmation of a future schedule. Rolling Stone’s July 2025 interview report covers his comments. The English wording appears in a German-edition report carrying translated article text, so it should be understood as reported translation rather than independently verified English transcript.

Is “Rockin’ All Over The World” connected to a Springsteen tour name?
No. The song title should not be confused with Human Rights Now!, the 1988 tour that began in London on September 2. Springsteen’s official timeline lists Sting, Peter Gabriel, Tracy Chapman and Youssou N’Dour among its fellow participants; it does not establish that Springsteen performed Fogerty’s song on that tour. The official 1988 timeline entry describes the tour and its opening date.
