On the September 16, 2024 episode of WWE Monday Night Raw, Bronson Reed threw a front-row audience member at Braun Strowman during a ringside brawl. Strowman was the target of the throw, not the one who made it. Headlines that credit Strowman with using a fan as a weapon reverse the roles that the reports describe.
What the reports say happened
Two contemporaneous wrestling and news reports cover the segment: Moneycontrol, published September 17, 2024, and WrestleZone, published September 16, 2024. Their accounts agree on the core sequence and differ mainly in how much match detail they include.

- The action spills outside the ring. Moneycontrol reports that Reed threw a front-row audience member at Strowman while Strowman charged toward him.
- The collision breaks Strowman’s momentum. Moneycontrol says the moment briefly distracted Strowman, and he then speared Reed.
- The match collapses. WrestleZone reports that the top rope snapped early, the brawl crossed the barricade, and the match was thrown out.
- The escalation continues. According to WrestleZone, Reed put Strowman through a table after Strowman tipped over a golf cart, and Strowman tackled Reed through a wall.
- The fight continues backstage. Moneycontrol reports that the two men crashed through a wall backstage.
- Both men go down. WrestleZone reports that both were down afterward and that medical officials checked on them.
How the two reports compare
| Report | Published | What it adds |
|---|---|---|
| Moneycontrol | September 17, 2024 | The fan throw, Strowman’s charge, the distraction, the speared, and the backstage wall crash |
| WrestleZone | September 16, 2024 | The early top-rope break, the barricade crossing, the match being thrown out, the table spot, the golf cart, and the medical check |
Who was involved, and what is not established
Bronson Reed is the wrestler the reports identify as throwing the audience member. Braun Strowman is the target of the throw and the wrestler who later speared Reed. Both are named in the reports; nothing in them changes that identification.
The audience member is the part the reports leave open. WrestleZone places the word “fan” in quotation marks, and Moneycontrol describes the person as a front-row fan. Neither report gives the person’s name, confirms whether they were an ordinary attendee or a performer, or describes what happened to them afterward. Anyone repeating the story should describe them as an audience member described in reports as a fan.

Why the wording of the headline matters
Many readers search for phrasings such as “Bronson Reed uses fan as weapon against Braun Strowman” or “fan thrown at Braun Strowman on Raw.” Those searches reflect the event itself. The inverted version, in which Strowman uses the fan as a weapon, is the one to avoid. It contradicts the reports, which put the throw in Reed’s hands and the fan’s flight toward Strowman.
Not to be confused with a 2018 fan storyline
WWE’s website has a page about Braun Strowman and a fan named Nicholas, but that page concerns a different event: WrestleMania 34 in 2018. It is a separate fan-related storyline and has no bearing on the September 2024 segment.

How to read the injuries and the match ending
The reports describe a staged wrestling segment. The table break, the wall crashes, the golf cart, and the medical check all belong to that performance, and none of the sources describes a verified real-life injury. The match ending is reported as the result of the escalating brawl, as WrestleZone describes it.
