The new backstage footage shows Paul Heyman accusing Seth Rollins of attacking Bron Breakker at the 2026 Royal Rumble. It does not, by itself, prove who was under the mask: WWE’s event recap initially called the assailant a masked Superstar, while later coverage says Rollins was ultimately revealed as the attacker.
What happened to Bron Breakker at the Royal Rumble?
At the Royal Rumble on January 31, 2026, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Breakker entered the men’s match at number two, behind number-one entrant Oba Femi. A masked figure attacked Breakker before he could properly enter the match, hitting him with a superkick and a Stomp, then putting him into the ring. Femi eliminated him shortly afterward. WWE’s official event recap and highlight video describe the assailant as a mystery or masked Superstar; the recap does not name the person.
What does the new backstage footage reveal?
In footage described by Inside the Ropes on February 3, Paul Heyman tells Breakker, “That was Seth Rollins. I’m tellin’ ya, that was Seth Rollins.” Breakker objects that Rollins had surgery about a month earlier and asks how he could have been there. The exchange shows Heyman making the accusation and Breakker questioning its plausibility. It is character dialogue in a WWE backstage segment, not independent verification of the attacker’s identity, Rollins’s whereabouts, or his medical status. Inside the Ropes’ account reports the scene and quotes the exchange.
Who was the masked mystery wrestler?
The answer depends on which point in the story is being described. WWE’s Royal Rumble recap identifies only a masked Superstar. A later event-history entry says Rollins revealed himself as the attacker at Elimination Chamber, but that account is secondary rather than a directly inspected WWE reveal clip. Accordingly, the footage and the event recap alone do not establish the identity; later coverage attributes the eventual storyline reveal to Rollins.

| Heyman says the attacker was Rollins | Backstage footage reported by Inside the Ropes, February 3, 2026 | Heyman’s accusation in the segment, not separate proof of identity. |
| Grayson Waller wore the mask as a possible stand-in | WrestleZone, February 5, 2026, attributing the claim to the High Spots Podcast | A reported explanation of who may have physically performed under the mask; WrestleZone said WWE had not confirmed the identity on television at that time. |
| Rollins later revealed himself | Wikipedia event-history entry, last edited September 26, 2026 | Secondary reporting of the later storyline outcome, not a directly inspected WWE reveal source. |
Why did Grayson Waller’s name come up?
On February 5, WrestleZone attributed to the High Spots Podcast a claim that Grayson Waller was physically under the mask, possibly serving as a stand-in. That is distinct from the later reported storyline reveal: a performer can portray the masked assailant in the attack while the story identifies another character as responsible. WrestleZone also noted that WWE had not confirmed the identity on television at the time. The report should therefore be read as an attributed backstage explanation, not as WWE’s final on-screen answer. Read WrestleZone’s February 5 report.
Why was Seth Rollins a plausible suspect in the story?
Breakker and Rollins had a history that gave Heyman’s accusation storyline context. In a June 15, 2026 preview, WWE said the two had once been united in The Vision, that Breakker led the coup that expelled Rollins in October, and that they later feuded. This background explains why Rollins would matter in the rivalry; it does not, on its own, establish that he carried out the Rumble attack. WWE’s preview of their Steel Cage match recounts that history.

How to read the different versions
- The attack footage: shows a masked figure striking Breakker; WWE’s recap leaves the person unnamed.
- The backstage footage: shows Heyman accusing Rollins and Breakker challenging that claim because of Rollins’s recent surgery.
- The Waller report: attributes a possible physical stand-in claim to the High Spots Podcast in early February 2026.
- The later reveal: is reported as Rollins unmasking at Elimination Chamber, but the cited account here is secondary.
Netflix Tudum’s event FAQ described the identity as “not yet revealed” in its coverage of the January 31 event. That wording reflects what its page said at that time, not the later storyline status. Netflix Tudum’s Royal Rumble 2026 results and FAQ also places the event in Riyadh and recounts Breakker’s quick elimination by Femi.
