Radio and podcast host Brittany Hockley competed in the 2025 Australian season of Dancing With The Stars, which aired on Seven and 7plus. She announced her casting on her radio show The Pick Up on 4 February 2025; Seven published the full cast six days later.
Why was Brittany Hockley invited to join?
In a 4 February 2025 report, PerthNow’s Kellie Balaam said Hockley explained on The Pick Up that producers contacted her after a video of her and her partner, Ben, practising their first dance ahead of their June wedding attracted attention online. Hockley said she had already begun training and that dancing had “taken over my life.”
Hockley co-hosts the Life Uncut podcast with Laura Byrne, who had competed on the programme two years earlier. The account of the invitation comes from Hockley’s radio-show comments as reported by PerthNow; it is not an account of a reporter witnessing the producers’ contact.
Who was in the 2025 Australian cast?
Seven’s cast announcement on 10 February 2025 listed 12 contestants, including Hockley. The same announcement named Sonia Kruger and Dr Chris Brown as hosts, and Craig Revel Horwood, Sharna Burgess, Helen Richey and Mark Wilson as judges.

Hockley was a contestant, not a host or judge. This was the Australian edition of the franchise, distinct from the US series.
When did the season air, and who won?
Apple TV Australia’s episode listing gives 15 June 2025 as the first episode’s air date and lists it as available on 7plus. The season aired on Seven and 7plus. Availability on a streaming service can change. Seven’s season wrap, published 5 August 2025, says Kyle Shilling won the finale after a live viewer vote.

What audience figures did Seven report?
Seven Network’s 5 August 2025 season wrap reported the following figures. They are broadcaster-reported results, not independent audience measurements in this article; the release’s source note refers to VOZ 5.0 national total TV average-audience data and comparison periods.
- More than 7.6 million Australians tuned in across Seven and 7plus over the series run.
- The finale averaged 937,000 national total TV viewers, 5% higher than the 2024 finale, and reached 1.81 million Australians.
- The series averaged 922,000 national total TV viewers, 5% higher than in 2024.
- The 7plus audience for the show increased 58% year on year.
Seven’s Group Managing Director, Television, Angus Ross, called the show a “family favourite” and credited its “star-studded line up of brave and talented celebrities” for attracting a bigger audience year on year. That is the broadcaster’s assessment, not an independent measure of viewers’ opinions.
