What was the reported “Severance” nod?
A PEOPLE-sourced report by Stephanie Wenger and Jen Juneau, republished by AOL on September 15, said Lower’s speech notes were marked “LET ME OUT.” The phrase evokes the series’ split between a person’s “innie” and “outie,” making it a reported Severance nod. The report does not establish that Lower explained the note’s intended meaning, so it should not be treated as a confirmed statement about her motive. What did Lower say in her acceptance speech?
The same report reproduces Lower’s opening line: “First, it’s a privilege to even be mentioned alongside such an incredible group of artists. Wow.” That excerpt is quoted from the report, rather than presented here as a transcript independently verified against the full speech.
