The August 2023 night out
On August 21, 2023, the Los Angeles Times reported that Spears appeared to celebrate the impending divorce after Asghari filed. The paper reported her statement that she had “played all night” with a group of men. That account describes the night-out coverage; it does not establish that the event took place in Cabo or support calling it a “party binge.”

The later Cabo dancing video
On September 7, the Los Angeles Times separately covered Spears’s Instagram comment about a dancing video from Cabo San Lucas. The report concerns a different moment from the August night out. Combining the two into a single Cabo party story would go beyond what these reports establish.
What is known about Asghari’s divorce filing and statement
Asghari filed for divorce in Los Angeles on August 16, 2023, citing irreconcilable differences. The filing listed July 28 as the separation date and requested spousal support and attorney fees, according to ABC News’s account of the filing.

In a public statement reproduced by ABC from his Instagram story, Asghari wrote: “After 6 years of love and commitment to each other my wife and I have decided to end our journey together.” He also asked for privacy and consideration. The statement describes the couple’s decision and his request; it does not reveal a particular legal tactic or private plan for a “next move.”

The divorce is not pending: the Associated Press reported that a Los Angeles County judge finalized it in May 2024 after the parties reached a settlement. AP reported that neither Spears nor Asghari would receive future spousal support. That completed outcome is the latest status established by the sources cited here.
