There is no objective ranking of celebrity fame in the available coverage, but six names stand out in reporting on Bristol Rovers supporters: Geoff Barrow, Roni Size, Maya Jama, Jeffrey Archer, David Graveney and Terry Dicks. Their connection to the club is not equally documented: some have spoken directly about supporting Rovers, while others are identified as fans by the Bristol Post or are known through charity-match appearances.
How to read this selection
“Most famous” is subjective, not a category measured by the sources. This is an editorial selection based on public recognition, the strength of the reported supporter evidence and, where available, recent official club association. It is not a definitive or numerically ranked top six.

The Bristol Post’s retrospective list is the main source for the supporter claims. Bristol Rovers’ official coverage of its 2025 and 2026 Talk Club Cup events separately lists Geoff Barrow and Roni Size among the club’s celebrity participants. A charity-match appearance, on its own, does not establish lasting fandom.
The six celebrity supporters
Geoff Barrow
Barrow, a member of the band Portishead, has played in Bristol Rovers charity matches, according to the Bristol Post. The club’s 2025 Talk Club Cup match-day guide and its 2026 event announcement also list him among Rovers celebrities. These appearances establish a public association with the club, though the sources reviewed do not include a direct statement from Barrow that he supports Rovers.

Roni Size
Bristol DJ and producer Roni Size has the clearest direct supporter statement among the six. The Bristol Post quotes him saying: “I’ve been supporting Bristol Rovers all my life. There’s only one team in Bristol as far as I’m concerned.” He has also appeared in charity matches and, like Barrow, is listed as a Rovers celebrity in the club’s 2025 and 2026 Talk Club Cup coverage.
Maya Jama
Radio DJ and television presenter Maya Jama was born in Bristol. The Bristol Post reports that, after trying football for a television series, she chose Rovers. Jama explained: “I went with Bristol Rovers because I am from Bristol.” She also said: “My family support Bristol Rovers, that’s their local team.” Her comments connect her choice to both her hometown and her family.

Jeffrey Archer
The novelist and former politician Jeffrey Archer is reported by the Bristol Post to have supported Rovers since childhood. He moved to Weston-super-Mare as an infant, and the paper recounts his remarks about following the club. His first name is sometimes misspelled “Jeffery” in a Bristol Post headline; the standard spelling is Jeffrey.
David Graveney
Former cricketer David Graveney, who also served as chairman of selectors for England, is described by the Bristol Post as a Bristol Rovers fan. The article reviewed does not provide a direct quotation from Graveney about his support, so the claim is best attributed to the paper rather than presented as his own statement.

- A classic, college, simple design with a curved, arched style.
- An awesome birthday gift idea, or Christmas present.
- Lightweight, Classic fit, Double-needle sleeve and bottom hem
Terry Dicks
Former MP Terry Dicks has a direct, if self-deprecating, supporter quote reproduced by the Bristol Post. In a reported account of a parliamentary debate, he said: “For my sins, I have supported Bristol Rovers for 50 years.”

Actor Kelsey Grammer attended a Bristol Rovers match in 2014 through a family connection. The Bristol Post cautions that calling him a supporter may overstate what that appearance proves, so attendance alone is not enough to include him as a confirmed fan. The paper also mentions other names, including Jane Couch and Jay0117, as well as boxers Tim Witherspoon and Glenn Catley in connection with charity matches. The available evidence does not establish a fame-based ranking that would place them ahead of this selection.
