Who is returning to the Bridget Jones films?
Working Title Films’ cast list names Renée Zellweger, Hugh Grant, Colin Firth, Jim Broadbent and Gemma Jones among the performers in the fourth film. Grant returns as Daniel Cleaver, Bridget’s former lover, who helps her as she raises her children. Firth is again part of the cast, though the official cast listing does not specify his character’s role in the story.
Other returning franchise performers named by Working Title include James Callis, Shirley Henderson, Sally Phillips, Sarah Solemani and Celia Imrie. The official cast list identifies performers, but it does not establish how much screen time each has; billing order should not be read as a ranking of their importance to the plot.

Chiwetel Ejiofor and Leo Woodall are among the prominent additions. Universal’s synopsis describes Bridget’s encounters with a younger man; Peacock’s promotional summary identifies Woodall as that love interest. But familiarly, she is concerned about if she’s measuring up. And we all relate to that.”
