Brian Austin Green says he still misses Luke Perry every day. In an October 30, 2025 interview with ABC 6, Green remembered Perry as a close friend whose death left him grieving the moments they would never share—and whose example still guides his choices.
Green remembered Perry as a friend who felt like family
Green played David Silver and Perry played Dylan McKay on Beverly Hills, 90210. The two appeared throughout the show’s 10 seasons, according to Parade.

“Personally, he was a brother to me and he was a family member to everyone on set,” Green told ABC 6 reporter Courtney Tezeno. “So we all have these amazing memories just of him as a human being.” That was Green’s description of his own bond with Perry and the atmosphere he remembered on set.
Green recalled the ordinary moments behind that closeness: singing together, traveling and texting late at night. Those memories, he said, bring both sorrow at knowing there can be no more such moments and gratitude that they shared them. “Those are the moments where you mourn the loss of never having that again, but you also cherish the memory of having had it.”

Why Perry’s death felt so tough to Green
Perry died on March 4, 2019, at age 52, after a stroke, according to Entertainment Tonight. Green’s later account of learning the news conveys how sudden the loss felt to him: in a November 2025 podcast conversation, he recalled having lunch with Perry less than a week before he learned Perry had suffered a stroke, then being shocked when told Perry had died two days after being hospitalized.
That account is Green’s recollection of what he learned and when; it does not mean he witnessed Perry’s stroke or treatment. It is also separate from the October ABC 6 interview, where Green focused on their friendship, his grief and the way Perry remains present in his thinking.

How Perry still influences Green
Green told ABC 6 that Perry remains on his mind. “He was a really special individual. I miss him daily, and I think about him often.” He described Perry as a kind of internal conscience, a person whose perspective he still considers when deciding how to act: “He’s kind of that conscience in my head where I pause and think, ‘Wait, how would Luke feel in this moment?’ He made such a lasting impression on me.”

Their connection was formed in the long run of Beverly Hills, 90210, where Green’s David Silver and Perry’s Dylan McKay were part of the same ensemble. ABC 6 reported that the complete series bundle debuted digitally in 4K UHD on October 20, 2025; that report concerns a digital release and does not establish the availability of a current DVD edition.
