‘Breaking Bad’ Creator Vince Gilligan’s New Show ‘Pluribus’ Says It Was “Made by Humans”

The end credits of Vince Gilligan’s Pluribus say “This show was made by humans.” The statement is pointed, but it is not a production-wide audit of AI use.

Pluribus, Vince Gilligan’s Apple TV drama, puts a blunt statement in its end credits: “This show was made by humans.” The line makes clear what the production chose to say about its authorship; it does not, by itself, document which tools were used for every task.

What is Pluribus?

Pluribus is a TV-MA drama from Vince Gilligan, known for creating Breaking Bad. Apple lists the series’ release date as November 7, 2025, and describes its premise this way: “The most miserable person on Earth must save the world from happiness.” Apple’s official series page links to the show on Apple TV.

What does the “made by humans” credit say?

The show’s end credits state: “This show was made by humans.” Marcus Mendes reported the wording for 9to5Mac on November 10, 2025, after viewers noticed the line. It is a direct statement from the production about the show, not a published inventory or independent audit of its production tools.

Why did Gilligan make the statement?

9to5Mac connected the credit to Gilligan’s misgivings about artificial intelligence, quoting his comments from a Deadline interview. As reported by 9to5Mac, he said: “I do not care for AI (…), but I’ll try to be magnanimous and say that anytime a new technology is created, I have to believe that the central impetus of it is to make the world a better place. It’s just that, as this technology progresses, I don’t see how it will make the world a better place, but maybe it will, because I’m wrong more than I’m right.”

The quotation expresses Gilligan’s concern that AI may not improve the world and could displace human work and creative effort. It explains the context for the credit, but it should not be mistaken for a detailed account of the show’s production.

Does the credit prove that no AI was used?

No. The credit establishes that the series chose to declare itself “made by humans.” The available reporting does not provide a task-by-task account of whether AI or automated software was used in writing, filming, editing, visual effects, marketing, or other parts of production. It would go beyond the evidence to interpret the line as proof that no AI tool played any role.
