The reports did not establish that a parasite had been identified or confirmed.
What happened to Brandi Glanville’s face?
In December 2024, Glanville described recurring facial swelling, pain and difficulty speaking. She said the problem had persisted for a long time and that a treatment course had helped temporarily, according to Futurism’s December 12, 2024 report. The Los Angeles Times also reported her account of recurring swelling and speech problems.
Those descriptions are Glanville’s account as reported by news outlets; the material available in those reports did not include her medical records or a treating clinician’s confirmation of a cause.
Was a parasite found or confirmed?
No confirmation appears in the December 2024 coverage. The reports said some specialists had suggested a possible parasite, but did not report a definitive identification. Yahoo Entertainment also described it as a possibility rather than an established diagnosis: its December 12, 2024 report covered the competing explanations.

Yahoo Entertainment reported that doctors had also raised dissolving facial fillers and angioedema as possible explanations. The coverage did not establish either one as the cause. A 2026 Daily Beast report described additional conditions and diagnostic claims, including coccidioidomycosis.
