The standalone Boomerang streaming app and website shut down after September 30, 2024. Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) said many Boomerang favorites would be available on Max, but warned that some content might not be there. The closure applies to the standalone service; it does not establish that every Boomerang-branded TV network or international service ended.
What happened to the Boomerang streaming service?
WBD told subscribers that the Boomerang app and website would no longer be available after September 30, 2024. The announcement concerned the standalone subscription streaming service, not necessarily every service or channel using the Boomerang name. Next TV reported the closure and subscriber notice.

At launch in April 2017, the service offered a library of more than 5,000 titles, including Hanna-Barbera, MGM, and Looney Tunes franchises, according to WBD’s 2018 second-anniversary release. That is a launch-era figure, not a count of what was available when the service closed or what is available now.
Where can you watch Boomerang cartoons now?
WBD told subscribers that Max had “loads” of Boomerang favorites, naming Scooby, Bugs Bunny, and Tom & Jerry. In the same message, WBD cautioned that some Boomerang content might not be available there. This was an announced partial migration, not a guarantee that the full library moved to Max. The subscriber statement was reproduced by Next TV.

Availability can depend on the title and the viewer’s market. The announcement does not establish which individual cartoons are currently on Max in a given region, so check the service’s catalog for your location before subscribing solely for a particular title.
Is the Boomerang TV channel the same as the app?
No. A Boomerang television-network listing is distinct from the discontinued on-demand app. Hulu currently lists the Boomerang network through its Entertainment add-on; that is a linear TV offering, not evidence that the old standalone streaming service has returned. See Hulu’s Boomerang network listing for the offering it describes.

Did Boomerang subscribers get refunds?
WBD’s notice said subscribers would receive a partial refund based on unused subscription time. The published notice does not establish the amount any individual received or describe a current process for pursuing a refund. Next TV reproduced the refund language from WBD’s message.
