PerthNow reported that a van associated with Bonnie Blue’s “Bang Bus” branding broke down on View Avenue in Surfers Paradise during the 2025 Gold Coast Schoolies celebrations and was taken away on a tow truck. The outlet attributed the breakdown and tow details to Gold Coast Tow Trucks and the account of the police response to a Queensland Police spokesperson.
What happened to the van in Surfers Paradise?
In a report published on 25 November 2025, PerthNow said the van had been seen around Surfers Paradise earlier that week before breaking down on View Avenue. The outlet reported that Gold Coast Tow Trucks received a breakdown call-out there and sent a mechanic; the van was then lifted onto a tow truck. These details come from PerthNow’s account, not a direct towing-company record.
What did police say about the tow?
PerthNow quoted a Queensland Police spokesperson as saying an officer saw a vehicle parked on a yellow line on View Avenue at about 3:45 p.m. on Friday, 21 November 2025. The spokesperson said: “Officers spoke to the driver who advised the vehicle was awaiting a tow due to steering failure.” The report also says police issued no infringement. It does not establish that anyone was arrested.
Was Bonnie Blue in Australia?
PerthNow reported that Bonnie Blue was in Bali and was not in Australia for the annual Schoolies celebrations. That is the outlet’s account; the reporting cited here does not independently verify her travel or location.

How does the incident relate to Schoolies?
The reported tow took place during the 2025 Schoolies period, not the 2026 event.
