On 19 November 2024, Fiji’s Home Affairs and Immigration Minister announced that adult-content creators Bonnie Blue and Annie Knight had been declared prohibited immigrants and that deportation proceedings were underway, according to local reporting. The Fiji Times reported the next day that Blue and a cameraman had been deported. The episode followed reports that Blue had said she planned to make adult content with Australian Schoolies visitors; the stated plans were not a court finding.

What happened in Fiji

FBC News reported on 19 November 2024 that Fiji Home Affairs and Immigration Minister Pio Tikoduadua had initiated deportation proceedings against British adult-content creator Tia Emma Billinger, known as Bonnie Blue, and others, including Australian creator Annie Knight. FBC said Blue had entered Fiji on a visitor permit and that the minister said she had breached a condition of stay. FijiVillage reported that the minister declared Blue and Knight prohibited immigrants and that proceedings were underway. FBC News and FijiVillage covered the announcement.

Were Bonnie Blue and Annie Knight deported?

The reports distinguished between proceedings being initiated and a completed deportation. On 20 November, The Fiji Times reported that the minister confirmed Blue and a cameraman had been deported. That later report does not independently confirm Knight’s departure, so it would be inaccurate to say the available accounts establish that both women were deported. The Fiji Times reported the later development.

Why were Schoolies plans part of the story?

The Fiji Times said Blue had posted that she was in Fiji with Australian Schoolies to make adult videos for her subscription-content site. FBC separately reported that police began an inquiry after overseas media reports, directing police intelligence and cybercrime units to verify the issue and saying police would assist Immigration. The reported plans and posts explain the public context, but the accounts do not establish every detail of what was planned or carried out.

What Fiji’s general entry guidance says

Fiji’s Immigration guidance explains that permission to enter does not automatically authorize work or other activities: a visa or permit must match the traveler’s purpose. That general rule helps explain why entry permission and the activities permitted during a stay are distinct questions. It is not the case-specific immigration decision or a court ruling on Blue or Knight. Fiji Immigration’s guidance sets out the general distinction.

What the minister said—and what is established

The Fiji Times attributed the following statement to Tikoduadua on 20 November 2024: “Their intentions are illegal under the law which is why we are taking these actions,” he said. It also quoted him saying: “They have already openly expressed their intentions. We don’t want them doing that here so there is no place for them here in Fiji.” These were the minister’s stated reasons, not a court’s finding. The available published reporting does not include a case-specific court judgment or immigration order.

The clearest account is therefore a dated one: Fiji’s minister announced prohibited-immigrant action and deportation proceedings on 19 November 2024; The Fiji Times said on 20 November that Blue and a cameraman had been deported. The episode should not be described as a current deportation process, and the available later confirmation should not be extended to Knight.
