Bone Lake is a horror thriller about a couple whose secluded lakeside getaway turns dangerous after another couple arrives at the same estate. Directed by Mercedes Bryce Morgan and written by Joshua Friedlander, the film stars Maddie Hasson, Alex Roe, Andra Nechita and Marco Pigossi. Bleecker Street lists it as available to rent or buy on demand; availability depends on your country and the current storefront listing.
What is Bone Lake about?
Sage and Diego plan a romantic stay at a secluded lakeside mansion, only to find that Will and Cin have also booked the estate. The forced proximity gives way to seduction, deception and manipulation, with the couples’ stay becoming a fight to survive. That spoiler-light outline follows the setup described by Bleecker Street and Apple TV; it does not reveal the later twists.
The film is presented as horror and mystery-thriller, with dark comedy and seduction also part of Bleecker Street’s description. Its central tension comes from two couples sharing an isolated setting, rather than from a documentary or a true-story premise.

Release date and runtime: why listings differ
Catalogs do not all show the same year or duration. Rotten Tomatoes lists a U.S. theatrical release date of October 3, 2025, and a runtime of 94 minutes. NOW’s catalog lists the film as a 2024 release and gives a runtime of 90 minutes. Treat those as source-specific catalog entries, not interchangeable universal details: the year may reflect different release or catalog conventions, and the listed runtimes differ.
| Listing | Year or date | Runtime | Context |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rotten Tomatoes | October 3, 2025 | 94 minutes | U.S. theatrical release and catalog runtime, retrieved 2026 |
| NOW | 2024 | 90 minutes | NOW catalog entry, retrieved 2026 |
