Bob Dylan opened his September 12, 2024, set at Blossom Music Center in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, with “All Along the Watchtower.” It was his first performance of the song since November 29, 2018, according to JamBase’s report of the show.
What happened at Blossom Music Center
Dylan’s appearance was part of the Outlaw Music Festival Tour. “All Along the Watchtower” opened the set, followed by “Rainy Day Women #12 & 35,” “Shooting Star” and “Love Sick,” among other songs. JamBase also noted that Mickey Raphael joined Dylan near the end of the set for “Simple Twist of Fate” and “Ballad of a Thin Man.” JamBase’s event report and setlist link to audience-shot footage.

Why the 2018 date matters
JamBase reported that Dylan had last played “All Along the Watchtower” on November 29, 2018, citing his official setlist database. The song appeared on his 1967 album John Wesley Harding. JamBase counted the September 2024 performance as the song’s 2,269th, a figure tied to that show rather than a current total.
The 2024 return is now a historical milestone
“First time since 2018” describes the September 2024 performance, not the song’s most recent appearance. The Official Bob Dylan Site’s setlists show “All Along the Watchtower” at the Cuthbert Amphitheater in Eugene, Oregon, on June 9, 2026, and at Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert, California, on June 20, 2026; it was listed third at both shows.
