Blumhouse Games announced six original horror projects at Summer Game Fest on June 7, 2024. Developed with six independent studios, the slate ranged from a teen-school séance adventure to a farming sim with a serial-killer mystery. It was an announcement lineup—not six entries in one franchise—and several titles have since been released.
What Blumhouse announced at Summer Game Fest
The reveal introduced Blumhouse Games’ initial slate of six games, each created with a separate development partner. The projects were original work rather than adaptations of Blumhouse films. In a June 17, 2024 interview, Jason Blum said the label was “going back to our roots, with a focus on indie horror, pushing boundaries and elevating new, original stories.”
The games span different horror styles and play formats. Here is what each project is about and what is known about its status as of October 8, 2026.
The six games in the 2024 announcement
| Game | Developer and style | Core premise | Release status and platforms |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fear the Spotlight | Cozy Game Pals; teen-school horror adventure | Vivian and Amy sneak into their school, where a séance goes wrong. They must survive, solve tactile puzzles and investigate an old school tragedy. | Released October 22, 2024 on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Switch, according to the announcement coverage and Steam listing. |
| SLEEP AWAKE | EYES OUT; psychedelic first-person horror | In a far-future last city where people vanish in their sleep, protagonist Katja confronts death cults and otherworldly forces. | Steam lists a December 2, 2025 release. The announcement coverage listed PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series. |
| Crisol: Theater of Idols | Vermila; first-person horror adventure | Set in a nightmarish version of Spain, the game draws on folklore and religion. The player uses their own blood as ammunition. | Blumhouse marks it available now; Steam lists February 10, 2026 as its release date. The announcement coverage listed PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series. |
| The Simulation | Playmestudio; game-within-a-game mystery | A retired game designer investigates a crime scene where a never-before-seen horror game is the only evidence. | Current release status and platforms are not stated in the announcement source; the title is absent from Blumhouse’s current games page. |
| Grave Seasons | Perfect Garbage; pixelated farming and town simulation | Build relationships and harvest crops in a town with a supernatural serial-killer mystery at its center. | Blumhouse currently lists it as launching Fall 2026. The announcement coverage listed PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and Switch. |
| Project C | Half Mermaid Productions; project associated with Sam Barlow and Brandon Cronenberg | A briefly teased, ambitious project that was not fully shown at the event. | Its status and platforms are unverified in the available sources; it does not appear on Blumhouse’s current games page. |
Release dates and platform details above come from announcement coverage, Steam listings and Blumhouse’s current games page; where those sources do not establish a current status, the table says so rather than treating the project as canceled or still forthcoming.

Which of the six are out now?
As of October 8, 2026, Blumhouse’s current games page marks Fear the Spotlight, SLEEP AWAKE and Crisol: Theater of Idols as available now. Steam independently lists release dates for those three. Blumhouse lists Grave Seasons for Fall 2026. The available sources do not establish a current release status for The Simulation or Project C.
The later appearance of Eyes of Hellfire on Blumhouse’s current page does not make it part of the Summer Game Fest six: it was not included in the June 2024 announcement. The original slate should also not be mistaken for Blumhouse Games’ full current portfolio.

Why the slate stood out
The announcement’s variety was part of its point: the six projects were not sequels to one another or extensions of a single Blumhouse film property. They put horror into markedly different frames, including school stealth and puzzles, first-person survival, farming and town life, and a mystery centered on a game inside a game. Blumhouse Games president Zach Wood said at the reveal that the label was proud to partner with independent creators bringing unique ideas to horror.
That makes the slate best understood as a collection of distinct experiments in horror, rather than a unified series. The announcement described concepts and partners, but it is not a basis for ranking the games’ quality.
