Jo Lammert: production across the portfolio
Lammert was to oversee production across Blumhouse Games’ portfolio and help partner developers complete their projects. Before joining, she was director of release management at Private Division, where her credits included The Outer Worlds, OlliOlli World, and Rollerdrome, according to GamesBeat.
Clint Brewer: technical leadership
Brewer brought more than 20 years of engineering experience, with roles at Nvidia, Oculus, EA, Activision, and other companies, GamesBeat reported. His appointment supplied technical leadership alongside Lammert’s portfolio-wide production remit.

What kind of games was Blumhouse Games setting out to publish?
The company’s stated plan was to publish original horror games with independent developers, rather than begin by adapting Blumhouse film franchises. The November 2023 GamesBeat report described a multiplatform approach spanning console, PC, and mobile, and said the target was indie budgets below $10 million.

A later Los Angeles Times report dated June 30, 2024 characterized the company’s target as mostly under $5 million per title. Those are two different descriptions published at different times, not a single confirmed budget cap.
The strategy put Blumhouse’s horror identity to work in games while relying on outside studios to make the projects. Production support could help coordinate delivery across those partner teams; technical leadership could help address engineering needs across a portfolio that was not limited to one genre format or platform.

Why was Blumhouse moving into games?
Blumhouse’s expansion reflected the scale of gaming as an entertainment medium, not just an opportunity to extend existing film properties. In the Los Angeles Times’ June 2024 account, Blumhouse president Abhijay Prakash said, “I don’t think you can be in the entertainment space and not notice or be aware of gaming,” adding that the market was growing and relevant to Blumhouse’s audience.
The Times reported that, according to the Entertainment Software Association, more than 190 million Americans played video games at least once a week and U.S. consumer games spending reached $57.2 billion in 2023. It also cited Newzoo’s estimate of $183.9 billion in global games-industry revenue that year. These figures describe the broader market; they do not measure Blumhouse Games’ performance.

At the Summer Game Fest presentation, Jason Blum said, “Horror is, to my great relief, getting more and more popular,” as reported by VGC on June 7, 2024. The announced projects gave the company a way to explore that audience through different independent teams and styles.
What later updates say—and what they do not establish
In October 2025, GamesBeat reported that Amanda Kruse joined Blumhouse Games as vice president of business development, with a brief to build relationships with multimedia partners. Separately, Blumhouse’s About page describes the broader company as working across film, television, and gaming and lists Fear the Spotlight alongside the upcoming Eyes of Hellfire and Sleep Awake.
Those later references show continued publishing and partnership activity, but neither provides a current leadership roster for Blumhouse Games. They therefore do not establish whether Lammert remains production lead or Brewer remains technical director as of October 8, 2026.
