The episode’s two threads explore what it takes to turn a change in understanding into something useful on the field. Isagi wants to make his new way of thinking repeatable; Reo wants to demonstrate his growth in a match that puts him back alongside Nagi.
Why is Isagi trying to reproduce his reflex-based thinking?
After scoring through reflex in the previous match, Isagi examines what happened. The goal was a breakthrough, but a single successful moment is not enough: he wants to understand how to reach that state of thinking again. The episode’s focus is on his analysis of this new sensation, not on a settled formula for reliably producing it.

Who plays in the second tryout match?
The next tryout match pairs reshuffled Team A, now without Rin and Shidou, against Team C, led by Yukimiya and Nagi. That lineup brings Reo back onto the field with Nagi, adding a personal test to the match’s tactical stakes.
Do Reo and Nagi play together again?
Yes. Reo is eager to show Nagi that he has grown as they play together again. The episode setup frames this as Reo’s opportunity to prove himself; it does not, on its own, establish that they have reconciled or that their partnership is settled.

What happens in Yukimiya’s opening attack?
Yukimiya starts with forceful dribbling and appears poised to take on the scoring attempt himself. His shot is directed toward Nagi, but the episode synopsis ends at that setup. It does not confirm whether Nagi receives or scores from it, nor does it establish the match’s final result. No score or winner can be stated from the episode information cited here.
Why is the episode called “Chameleon”?
The title fits the episode’s emphasis on adaptation, particularly Reo’s effort to show that he has developed. It also resonates with the series’ changing on-field roles and approaches, though the episode synopsis does not explain the title directly or identify a definitive “Chameleon” technique. Here, Reo’s return alongside Nagi is the clearest setup for reading the title.
