Blue Lock: Episode Nagi first opened in Japan on April 19, 2024, and its international theatrical rollout began that June. The phrase “now in theatres” is no longer reliable as a current listing: Japan announced later revival and selection screenings, but the available official information does not confirm showtimes for October 8, 2026. Check a local cinema’s current listings before making a trip.
Is Blue Lock: Episode Nagi still in theatres?
That depends on your location and the date. The film had a two-week revival at listed Japanese theaters from July 25 to August 7, 2025. Japan’s official film news also announced a screening in the Bandai Namco Filmworks Selection beginning August 28, 2026. That announcement does not establish whether screenings are still running on October 8, 2026, and the sources cited here do not verify current showtimes elsewhere. Check your cinema’s listings for the specific date and location.

The official viewing information cited here is for Japan, not a worldwide availability guide. The Japanese official page says subscription streaming and paid streaming began October 5, 2024, and names services including Netflix and Prime Video. Those are historical launch details, not a guarantee that the film remains available there today. The page also notes that service dates, periods, and prices may differ.

What is the film about?
The film adapts Blue Lock: Episode Nagi, a spin-off that retells the Blue Lock story from Seishiro Nagi’s point of view. Nagi is a high-school student with little motivation until his classmate Reo Mikage recognizes his soccer talent and draws him into the game. After Nagi shows what he can do, the two enter the Blue Lock project and meet the strikers gathered there.
