BLUE LOCK THE MOVIE -EPISODE NAGI- opened in Canadian theatres on June 28, 2024. The release was announced in both Japanese with English subtitles and an English dub. That date is a past theatrical opening—not confirmation of current Canadian showtimes.
When did Episode Nagi open in Canada?
Crunchyroll announced on June 7, 2024, that the film would begin its Canadian theatrical run on June 28. Landmark Cinemas also listed the film for that date in both English-dubbed and Japanese-language-with-English-subtitles versions. These listings document the original release; they do not show whether any Canadian theatre is screening it now. Crunchyroll’s announcement and Landmark’s English-dub listing preserve the release details.
What language versions were announced?
Canadian audiences were offered two announced screening options: Japanese audio with English subtitles, or an English dub. Landmark’s Japanese-with-English-subtitles listing confirms the subtitled version. The announcements establish those release formats, but not current availability or differences in ticket price or screening format.
What is the movie about?
The film retells part of the Blue Lock story from the perspective of Seishiro Nagi, a high-school student who sees both life and soccer as a hassle. His classmate Reo Mikage recognizes Nagi’s ability and draws him into soccer and the Blue Lock project. Their relationship and Nagi’s development sit within the larger competition. The official film introduction presents the feature through Nagi’s point of view; Crunchyroll describes it as based on the manga by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Yusuke Nomura.

How does it connect to the manga and anime?
Episode Nagi adapts a manga story connected to the larger Blue Lock series. It is a Nagi-centered view of that world rather than an unrelated soccer story. The official film introduction calls it the first film adaptation in the series. Readers interested in the source story can look for the Episode Nagi manga, checking the specific English edition and volume available in Canada before buying; the theatrical listings do not establish a current Canadian retail edition or stock.
