That is a third-party estimate, not a confirmed or audited statement of his personal wealth. The reported figure is also separate from John’s reported 2020 earnings and from Moonbug’s acquisition of the Blippi brand, whose price was not disclosed.
What is Blippi’s estimated net worth?
Celebrity Net Worth lists Blippi—Stevin John’s children’s-entertainment persona—with an estimated net worth of $40 million. The publisher does not establish that number through audited accounts or a personal financial disclosure from John, so it should be treated as an estimate rather than a verified balance sheet. Celebrity Net Worth’s profile of Stevin John is the source for the commonly cited figure.
Why the $17 million figure is not his net worth
Celebrity Net Worth also reports that John earned $17 million in 2020. Earnings for one year and net worth are different measures: annual earnings describe income over a period, while net worth concerns the value of assets minus liabilities at a point in time. The publisher does not provide audited accounts establishing the earnings figure, and it should not be added to the $40 million estimate or treated as proof of it.
How much did Blippi sell for?
Moonbug announced on July 30, 2020, that it had acquired both Blippi and CoComelon. Neither Moonbug’s announcement nor Bloomberg’s contemporaneous report disclosed the purchase price or other deal terms. Buzzacott’s transaction listing identifies Moonbug as the buyer and Blippi as the seller, but does not state a price. Moonbug’s announcement, Bloomberg’s report, and Buzzacott’s transaction note do not establish an exact sale value.

The $120 million was company financing, not the sale price
Moonbug separately announced a $120 million financing round to support company growth and future acquisitions. Bloomberg described the sum as funding raised from investors. It was not identified as the price paid for Blippi, nor as money paid directly to John. The announcement covered the acquisition of two properties, CoComelon and Blippi, alongside the financing; it did not allocate a disclosed amount to either acquisition.
What Moonbug said about Blippi at the time
In its July 30, 2020 announcement, Moonbug described Blippi as having more than 24 million subscribers and 570 million average monthly views. Those are historical figures from that announcement, not current audience statistics. Moonbug also cited an existing successful toy line and said it planned to expand the brand through additional episodes, toys, apparel, and licensing partnerships. These details show the commercial reach Moonbug described, but they do not reveal the acquisition price or establish John’s personal wealth.
