Pure-filler episodes to skip
These are the guide’s pure-filler episodes and ranges. The range 64–108 is the Bount-related run; 168–189 covers the New Captain Shūsuke Amagai block; 228–266 is the Zanpakutō Rebellion block; and 311–341 is the Gotei 13 Invading Army block. Why you should not automatically skip mixed episodes
“Mixed canon/filler” is not the same classification as pure filler: these episodes combine adapted story material with anime-original material. For a first watch, keep them in. If you want to cut more, use a scene-level guide and decide what to omit; the classification guide does not establish one universally agreed scene-by-scene skip rule.

Should you watch the Bount arc?
The Bount-related episodes are 64–108. They are classified as pure filler in the cited guide, so a canon-focused viewer can skip that run. Watch it if you want the anime’s additional original storyline rather than only the manga-adapted route. The same choice applies to the other longer filler blocks: skip them for a faster route, or watch them for a more complete anime experience.
Is Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War filler-free?
Not entirely under the current classification. Anime Filler List’s guide, updated September 26, 2026, reports 45 aired episodes: episodes 1–44 are labeled manga canon, and episode 45 anime canon. It reports no pure-filler episode in that set. Because this count changes as episodes air, check the current Thousand-Year Blood War episode guide for later additions. The official Bleach anime website also publishes story material for the continuation.

Anime route or manga?
If you want to avoid anime-original episodes altogether, reading the manga is the direct alternative. The anime route above preserves the manga-adapted episodes while leaving mixed episodes in place for context. VIZ’s Bleach Box Set 1 contains volumes 1–21; its third and final box set contains volumes 49–74. These sets are optional ways to read or collect the series, not prerequisites for following the anime.
