Is Black Clover Season 5 officially confirmed?

When will the new Black Clover season release?
The announced Japanese broadcast window is October 2026. No official source has supplied a specific day, so dates such as October 1 or October 7 should not be treated as confirmed. What happened in Black Clover episode 170?
The original television run ended on March 30, 2021, with episode 170, “The Faraway Future.” The episode left Asta in the middle of his training conflict with Liebe, the devil connected to his anti-magic power. It also positioned Asta and the other characters to prepare for a rematch with the Dark Triad.
That ending explains why the next season can move directly into the Spade Kingdom conflict. The anime did not conclude the main story; it stopped after reaching a natural production break while the manga continued.
Which manga chapters will Season 5 adapt?
The safest starting point for manga readers is around chapter 270, although the precise transition is not perfectly identical because the television series includes anime-original material. Episode-to-chapter comparisons can therefore vary depending on whether a guide uses the manga’s chronology or the anime’s final televised scenes.

The manga completed serialization in May 2026, after beginning in Weekly Shonen Jump in February 2015 and later continuing in Jump GIGA. The official anime site says the manga has sold more than 24.5 million copies. Its completion gives the anime a finished source story to draw from, but it does not mean the new season will necessarily adapt the entire manga ending.

What the 2023 movie has to do with the new season
Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King is a separate film project. It takes place within the broader Black Clover timeline, but it does not continue directly from episode 170 in the way the new television season will.
Viewers do not need to treat the film as episode 171. The announced television continuation is focused on the main manga storyline and specifically identifies the Spade Kingdom Raid arc.
