Billy Ray Cyrus marked Firerose’s birthday on Instagram on Dec. 11, 2023, with a video of the pair posing outside a barn and a caption calling her the “love of my life.” They were married at the time; a Tennessee judge finalized their divorce in August 2024.

The caption is Cyrus’s affectionate birthday message. It does not, by itself, establish anything about the couple’s private relationship beyond what he chose to write publicly.
Why she was described as his wife
Cyrus and Firerose married on Oct. 10, 2023. UPI’s Oct. 12, 2023 report gave the date and quoted the couple’s joint Instagram announcement. Their wedding came about two months before the birthday tribute, so “wife” was accurate in the original coverage.

Are Billy Ray Cyrus and Firerose still married?
No. Cyrus filed for divorce in Tennessee in May 2024. The Associated Press reported that his filing cited irreconcilable differences, alleged inappropriate marital conduct, and sought an annulment on the basis of alleged fraud. Those were claims in the filing, not findings of fact; the AP said the filing did not detail the allegations.
A Williamson County judge finalized the divorce on Aug. 5, 2024, according to the AP report republished by NY1 on Aug. 6, 2024. Firerose is therefore Cyrus’s former wife; the 2023 birthday post belongs to an earlier point in their relationship.
