That update was about Justine—not Brownless’s later relationship with Crystle Fleur, which subsequent reports covered separately.
What Brownless said about Justine
In its 26 January 2023 report, PerthNow said Brownless and Justine had attended the Australian Open. He described the relationship as going well and said they were happy, adding: “Everything is going well. Taking it one week at a time as they say. We’re very happy and it’s nice to be out.”
How their relationship became public
PerthNow reported that Brownless met Justine at the AFL Grand Final September Club in 2019, after Leigh Montagna and his wife Erin introduced them. The report said they began dating about six months later and went public together at Flemington Champions Stakes Day in November 2022.
In May 2023, 7NEWS reported that Brownless had celebrated an anniversary with Justine. He joked: “We’re still together, believe it or not.”

Later relationship reports concern Crystle Fleur
The Justine update is not the latest relationship chapter in the coverage. In October 2024, PerthNow reported that Brownless was in a new relationship with a Geelong woman it named “Crystal.” He said: “She doesn’t like to get in pictures, but it’s going well, and we’re going to the Geelong best and fairest on Thursday night.”
Now To Love identified his partner as Crystle Fleur in January 2026 and reported that Brownless confirmed they were still dating after they appeared at the Australian Open. It also described Justine as a former partner. The difference between “Crystal” in PerthNow’s 2024 report and “Crystle Fleur” in Now To Love’s 2026 coverage is the spelling used by each outlet; the reports do not explain it.

In July 2026, Now To Love reported that Brownless and Crystle had moved in together in South Yarra. The article attributed relationship commentary and suggestions about possible future milestones to unnamed insiders, rather than to Brownless or Crystle, so those claims should not be treated as confirmed statements from the couple.

PerthNow’s 2023 account said Brownless had been married to Nicky Brownless for 18 years and that they have four children: Lucy, Ruby, Oscar and Max.
