In a February 27, 2026 post on X, Dick said they had not spoken since his mother died “over 10 years ago.” That is Dick’s account of their relationship; the available sources do not independently confirm Dani’s current contact with him.
What Evel Dick has said about their contact
Dick made a similar claim on X on July 24, 2020, writing that their last conversation was when his mother died “5 years ago.” In his February 2026 post, he described the gap as more than ten years. Both statements are his, and the difference between the estimates does not establish a precise date for their last conversation. EntertainmentNow reported the posts and timeline.
The latest located statement therefore points to continued estrangement, but it should not be presented as a direct update from Dani. The sources available for this article do not independently verify whether they have spoken recently.
How their relationship unfolded on Big Brother
Big Brother 8: a televised attempt to reconnect
Dick Donato, known as Evel Dick, and his daughter Daniele Donato-Briones entered Big Brother 8 in 2007 estranged. They worked together during the season; Dick won and Daniele finished as runner-up. In a contemporaneous TV Guide interview, Dick said they still had communication problems and deep-rooted issues to resolve. Daniele said the experience forced them to come together and that they focused on the good times.

Their on-screen effort to reconnect was not proof that they maintained contact after the season. The 2007 interview itself described unresolved work ahead for them.
Big Brother 13 and later distance
They returned to the show together for Big Brother 13. A 2026 retrospective says they were no longer as close by then, though that account does not provide an independent current update from Daniele.

Big Brother 22: Dani’s All-Star season
Daniele competed on Big Brother 22 in 2020 and was evicted during the season. Her Parade exit interview focused on gameplay and relationships with other houseguests, rather than whether she was speaking with her father. A contemporary Entertainment Tonight cast interview identified her as Dick’s daughter and discussed her previous Big Brother placements; it did not establish their current contact.

In March 2026, Dick shared throwback childhood photos of Daniele on X. Those posts show that he shared old family images; they do not show that the two had resumed speaking. No recent direct statement from Daniele about current contact is established by the sources cited here, so her father’s account should not be attributed to her.
