Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is currently scheduled to open in U.S. theaters on June 18, 2027. Sony also shared four still images after presenting an exclusive preview at CinemaCon in April 2026. The images offer glimpses of Miles with his father, Spider-Man 2099 and Spider-Punk; the preview itself has not been released as a full public trailer.
When does Beyond the Spider-Verse come out?
Sony’s current investor release slate lists June 18, 2027, as the film’s expected U.S. release date. Sony’s May 2026 CinemaCon recap confirms the date and says the movie will reach theaters worldwide in 2027, without giving a separate international day. Sony cautions that release dates and titles are subject to change, so June 18 is the current schedule, not a guarantee. Sony’s release slate and CinemaCon recap provide the latest official details.
Why older stories show different dates
The date has shifted more than once. Sony first announced June 4, 2027, in 2025; the film was later moved to June 25, then advanced by one week. The current June 18 listing supersedes both earlier dates. TheWrap’s CinemaCon report recounts the schedule changes, while its 2025 date announcement report reflects the original June 4 listing.
What do the new images show?
Kotaku reported that Sony released four stills. Its descriptions point to several different sides of Miles’s story:

- Miles sitting on a car with his father in Brooklyn.
- Spider-Man 2099 choking Miles during a fight.
- Spider-Punk standing above a crowd.
- A scene that Kotaku interprets as showing younger versions of Miles’s father, Jefferson Davis, and his uncle Aaron Davis. That identification is the outlet’s reading of the image, not a confirmed explanation from Sony.
These images suggest a mix of family stakes, conflict with Spider-Man 2099 and the wider Spider-Verse cast, but they do not establish the sequence or full context of those moments. See Kotaku’s report and image descriptions.
What was shown at CinemaCon?
Sony presented an exclusive preview at CinemaCon in April 2026. In the studio’s account, Miles is pursued by Miguel O’Hara’s Spider Society and betrayed by friends; he searches for a way home while trying to reunite with and protect his family. Sony’s recap describes that story setup and calls the movie the final installment of its Spider-Verse saga.

TheWrap’s account of the footage shown to CinemaCon attendees says the preview began with Miles realizing there is no Spider-Man on Earth-42, then showed him facing that universe’s Miles, the Prowler. The report also describes Miles escaping restraints with his venom powers and quick cuts featuring Gwen, Peter B. Parker, Spider-Ham, Kingpin, Spider-Noir and Spider-Man 2099. This is a reporter’s description of an exclusive event preview—not a publicly released full trailer. TheWrap’s footage report recounts what attendees saw.
