Estimate the stream’s monthly transfer first
At a constant bitrate, a continuous stream sends roughly bitrate Ă— seconds Ă— days Ă· 8. Using decimal bytes and a 30-day month, a 3 Mbps feed sends about 0.97 TB, while a 5 Mbps feed sends about 1.62 TB, before protocol overhead. These are arithmetic estimates, not provider-published usage figures; metering units and overhead can change the billed amount.
This estimate matters especially in Mumbai Lightsail, where the published transfer allowance is half the general bundle amount. At 3 Mbps, the estimate nearly fills its 1 TB allowance; at 5 Mbps, it exceeds the 1.5 TB allowance of the 2 GB bundle before overhead. Check current metering and overage terms before choosing a plan.

The transfer allowance accounts for inbound and outbound data; only outbound transfer beyond the allowance is subject to overage. Confirm current overage rates and the provider’s exact transfer accounting before purchase. The smaller bundles may work for a lightweight relay, but these listed specifications alone do not prove a VM can encode your particular source or deliver a reliable continuous stream.
3. Oracle Cloud Infrastructure: compare compute with APAC egress
OCI’s current India-localized price list, accessed October 3, 2026, lists the first 10 TB per month of outbound transfer originating in APAC as free, with charges applying above that threshold. This can provide transfer headroom for a single stream, but the total still depends on the chosen compute shape and storage. Select an India region and price the actual VM configuration rather than comparing the transfer allowance alone.
4. Google Cloud: Mumbai and Delhi with separate egress costs
Google Cloud documents Mumbai and Delhi regions and tiered network egress rates. Add the selected VM’s cost to the applicable destination-specific network charges; an egress rate by itself is not comparable to a bundled Lightsail plan. Confirm the region, network tier, expected monthly transfer and any applicable taxes in the pricing configuration.

Why a managed AWS video stack is a different comparison
AWS’s published live-video architecture example is $69.74 per hour for an example US East one-hour SD-540p event with about 1,000 viewers. That example includes encoding, packaging and viewer distribution under stated assumptions. It describes a managed delivery architecture, not one VM sending a feed into YouTube, so it is not a price estimate for this use.

If the media is already encoded
A VM that relays an already encoded loop may mainly need to read the media and sustain the outbound connection. Size it for the actual software and workload, then test under continuous operation; the published bundle specifications do not establish performance for your particular stream.
If the VM must encode or compose video
Encoding or combining sources adds CPU or GPU work. Do not select a tiny instance solely because its monthly price looks low: test the chosen resolution, frame rate, codec and audio with the intended process, and check CPU load and stream health during a representative run.

Set up YouTube Live and test the stream
- Enable YouTube Live and create the stream through YouTube’s workflow. Configure the channel and obtain its stream key there. Keep the key private; do not expose it in a script, screenshot or public configuration.
- Choose the source path. Decide whether the VM reads stored media, receives an already encoded feed, or encodes a raw/composed source. This choice determines the workload and storage or input requirements.
- Configure the encoder for YouTube’s guidance. YouTube accepts H.264, H.265 or AV1 video and AAC or MP3 audio; it recommends constant bitrate and a two-second keyframe interval, not exceeding four seconds. For H.264, its recommended bitrate is 3 Mbps for 720p30 and 5 Mbps for 1080p30. Use the settings appropriate to the resolution and codec you actually choose.
- Use RTMPS to a valid YouTube ingest endpoint. YouTube recommends RTMPS, and its RTMPS API guidance requires port 443 on the valid ingest server. The endpoint and key should be configured privately in your streaming software.
- Test before relying on a 24/7 run. YouTube advises testing with similar audio and motion and monitoring stream health. Review ingest messages and confirm that the stream stays connected and the audio is clean.
- Plan for process failure. Configure a way to restart the streaming process, retain logs and alert someone when it stops. Maintain a recovery plan; no provider-specific restart setup or uptime guarantee is established by the listed prices.
For a Gurbani stream, also confirm that you have the rights to the recording, performance and any accompanying material. A continuous schedule does not exempt a channel from YouTube’s copyright rules or its reused-content and monetization policies. Review the current policies in YouTube Studio and avoid assuming that devotional subject matter itself makes a recording safe to rebroadcast.
