For a funny Halloween movie with a genuine horror-comedy edge, start with Totally Killer. For a teen-friendly comedy-fantasy premise, try Zombie Town. If you want a lighter seasonal watch, consider Haunted Mansion, Hocus Pocus 2, or a family-oriented Addams Family movie. These picks suit different moods rather than forming an objective funniest-to-least-funny ranking.
Which funny Halloween movie should you watch?
Choose by tone and audience: Totally Killer is the clearest fit for viewers who want a slasher setup with comic elements; Zombie Town takes a teen adventure and comedy-fantasy route. For a lighter seasonal choice, the 2023 Halloween programming announcements from Disney+ and Paramount+ included several family-oriented candidates.

| Movie | Best fit | What the sources establish |
|---|---|---|
| Totally Killer (2023) | Horror-comedy fans | The Los Angeles Times described it as a horror comedy with a Halloween setting; its premise involves a killer and time travel to 1987. Amazon includes it in a Halloween roundup. Los Angeles Times; About Amazon. |
| Zombie Town (2023) | Comedy-fantasy and teen adventure | Disney+ classifies it as comedy and fantasy, lists a 1-hour-32-minute runtime, and describes a Halloween-night horror premiere followed by a zombie threat in town. Disney+. |
| Haunted Mansion | A spooky seasonal option for a broader family audience | Disney included its streaming premiere in its 2023 Hallowstream announcement. That announcement does not establish present-day availability. Disney+ Press. |
| Hocus Pocus 2 | A lighter seasonal watch | Disney listed it among the titles subscribers could stream during the 2023 Hallowstream season; current availability is not established by that announcement. Disney+ Press. |
| The Addams Family (1991) and The Addams Family (2019) | Family comedy | Paramount+ grouped both under its 2023 “Family Fright Night” seasonal category. The announcement is a dated programming snapshot, not a guarantee of current access. Paramount Press Express. |
| Monster High: The Movie and A Really Haunted Loud House | Additional young-viewer options | Paramount+ also included these in its 2023 family-oriented seasonal grouping. Check the current catalog before choosing one. Paramount Press Express. |
For horror comedy: Totally Killer
Totally Killer is the most direct match if “funny Halloween movie” means a comedy built around a horror premise. The Los Angeles Times classified the 2023 film as a horror comedy and noted its Halloween setting. Its Sweet Sixteen Killer premise meets a time-travel trip to 1987, giving the story both a slasher hook and a teen-comedy angle. It is not presented in the cited sources as a family-friendly choice.
Amazon’s Halloween roundup also includes the film and links to Prime Video. Amazon advises checking the local site for availability, so treat that listing as a discovery starting point rather than a promise that it is currently streamable in every region.
#1 Best Overall
For comedy fantasy: Zombie Town
Disney+ describes Zombie Town as a comedy and fantasy film. Its Halloween-night setup begins with a horror premiere and turns into a zombie threat facing teens in their town. Disney+ lists its runtime as 1 hour 32 minutes. That combination makes it a different kind of pick from Totally Killer: more comedy-fantasy adventure than slasher satire.
For a lighter seasonal movie night
If your group would rather keep the horror lighter, the 2023 seasonal lineups offer a handful of alternatives. Disney’s Hallowstream announcement included Haunted Mansion and Hocus Pocus 2. Paramount+’s Peak Screaming announcement grouped the 1991 and 2019 Addams Family movies, Monster High: The Movie, and A Really Haunted Loud House as family-oriented viewing.

Where to watch these Halloween movies

Disney+ and Paramount+ announcements cited here describe their 2023 seasonal programming, not guaranteed present-day availability. Peacock’s Halloween collection is another place to browse by mood, but its collection page does not establish that every movie in this list is available there.
