Best overall for an always-on YouTube loop of recorded sermons: StreamNeo—it plays uploaded videos from the cloud, keeps running with your computer off, and supports any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, with the first day free. For a live weekly worship service with cameras and volunteers, choose a live-production workflow instead: evaluate Restream for a cloud workspace that includes church-oriented scheduling features, or StreamYard for browser-based production and team tools. Gyre is another option YouTube specifically lists for 24/7 prerecorded playback.
First decide what “continuous” means for your church. A live service is a real-time production; a 24/7 channel looping past sermons is prerecorded playout. The services below do not all solve the same problem.
Choose by workflow: live service or sermon loop?
- Live weekly worship: A camera, microphones and an operator feed a live-production studio or encoder. Consider Restream or StreamYard if you want a cloud or browser-based workflow.
- Always-on prerecorded sermons: Upload recordings and schedule or loop them as a continuous YouTube stream. StreamNeo is the first service to consider for this use; YouTube also lists Gyre specifically for 24/7 prerecorded video.
- Both: You may need separate workflows: one for the live service and another for unattended playback. Confirm that any service’s plan and scheduling limits fit the hours you intend to run.
A YouTube encoder can be software or standalone hardware; it converts a video feed into a format YouTube Live can receive. A live-production studio, a local encoder and a cloud playout service are different approaches, even when each ultimately sends a stream to YouTube.
Best services for continuous sermon streaming
| Rank and service | Best fit | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| 1. StreamNeo | Unattended 24/7 YouTube playback of uploaded sermon recordings. It runs in the cloud, supports uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and offers a free first day. | YouTube-only destination; confirm your recording rights and organize your own archive. Each slot includes 10 GB of storage, pooled across active slots. |
| 2. Restream | Churches wanting a cloud workspace for live services and occasional scheduled prerecorded sermons or devotionals. | Prerecorded streaming is a paid feature with plan-dependent limits; check the current allowance against your schedule. Confirm destination and team-access needs. |
| 3. Gyre | A 24/7 YouTube stream of prerecorded sermons. | YouTube describes Gyre as cloud-based prerecorded playout, but that does not establish it as a live-service production studio. Confirm current terms and scheduling fit. |
| 4. StreamYard | Browser-based live production, branding, team workflows and multistreaming. | The reviewed official sources do not establish it as a dedicated unattended 24/7 sermon-loop service. Recording duration and storage are plan-dependent. |
1. StreamNeo for unattended sermon playback
StreamNeo is a cloud service for keeping a YouTube channel live from uploaded videos. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live; StreamNeo loops the material in the cloud, so a church computer and home internet connection do not have to stay on. Its product details are at StreamNeo.

Every slot includes one always-on stream, 10 GB of storage per slot (pooled across active slots), 24/7 looping and playlists, automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream, and support from the StreamNeo team. Uploaded video streams as made, up to 4K 60fps, with no re-encode or quality tiers. The same product is included on every plan; only the billing length changes. One free day is available per account, with no card required. UPI and cards are supported in India, and card checkout is available worldwide.
- Daily $0.99 per day
- Weekly $2.99 per week
- Monthly $9.99 per month
- 6 months $49.99 for 6 months
- Yearly $89.99 a year
Billing lengths are available for a day, a week, a month, six months or a year, and you can cancel any time. Churches needing five or more slots can contact support. For planning, StreamNeo offers an upload-time calculator, a cloud vs. PC cost calculator, and a copyright safety checklist.
2. Restream for live services plus scheduled messages
Restream’s church-oriented workflow covers live services, preparing event details and destinations ahead of special services, saved drafts for future services, and team collaboration on plans that include team access. Its Upload & Stream feature can schedule recorded sermons or devotionals, but Restream describes that as a paid feature with limits that depend on the plan. Treat those limits as a planning constraint rather than assuming an unlimited loop.

Restream’s church page says the free plan supports up to two simultaneous channels, subject to destination restrictions, and that Facebook Pages require a paid plan. Those details matter if the church wants to reach audiences beyond YouTube; check the current plan before relying on a particular destination or channel count. Restream is a candidate when the church wants a shared cloud workspace for live events and occasional prerecorded content, not an automatic substitute for a purpose-built continuous playout service.
See Restream’s church streaming page for its current workflow and plan information.
3. Gyre for 24/7 prerecorded playback
YouTube’s encoder directory describes Gyre as a cloud-based tool for 24/7 live streaming of prerecorded videos on YouTube, operating without a camera or dedicated PC. That makes it a relevant service to evaluate for a continuous sermon archive stream. The listing does not establish that Gyre is intended to produce a live weekly worship service with camera switching, live speakers or volunteer controls. Check its current terms, scheduling limits and archive-management workflow before choosing it.

4. StreamYard for browser-based live production
StreamYard is a candidate for churches that prioritize a browser studio, branding, team workflows and multistreaming. Its pricing page lists features including overlays, recordings, cloud recording and custom RTMP destinations, with prerecorded-stream allowances that depend on plan. The official material reviewed does not confirm it as a dedicated unattended 24/7 prerecorded sermon-loop service, so do not select it for that use without confirming the current product capability.

StreamYard says paid plans have no streaming-duration limit on its side, but destination services can impose their own limits. Its support documentation says YouTube has no duration limit in this context, while only the last 12 hours of a stream will be recorded automatically by YouTube. StreamYard lists recording limits of 10 hours for Core, Advanced and Teams, and 24 hours for Business. If storage fills, recording can stop even though broadcasting can continue. Check the current plan and destination requirements before scheduling long events.

How to decide between the services
- Destination: If YouTube is the only destination and the priority is a loop of recorded sermons, compare StreamNeo and Gyre. For simultaneous destinations, check each live-production plan’s current destination list and channel limits.
- Who operates it: A browser studio may suit volunteers producing a service live. Cloud playout is a better fit when uploaded recordings should continue without an operator at a church computer.
- Recording and archive: Separate the live broadcast from the recording you need to keep. YouTube’s automatic archive behavior, vendor recording caps and storage limits are not the same thing as a church-owned backup.
- Schedule and team: Verify how many prerecorded hours, saved events, team seats and simultaneous channels your intended plan actually includes. Vendor features and plans can change.
- Total operating cost: Include any encoder or production equipment, service plan, storage, internet connection and the time volunteers spend running or maintaining the system. Compare the complete workflow, not just the monthly software price.
Set up YouTube Live before service day
- Enable live streaming early. YouTube says a channel must be verified and have no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours, so do not wait until the service is about to begin. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.
- Create or schedule the stream in YouTube Studio. For an encoder workflow, open the scheduled stream’s settings in YouTube Studio and obtain its stream URL and stream key. Keep the key private: anyone who has it may be able to send video to the channel.
- Connect the encoder or cloud service. Paste the stream URL and key into the relevant encoder settings. A browser studio may connect a destination through its own interface; follow that service’s current YouTube connection steps.
- Check the preview before going live. Confirm the correct event, picture, sound and destination in YouTube Studio before starting the broadcast. For a live service, rehearse the camera and microphone path; for prerecorded playback, check that the intended recording or playlist is selected.
- Plan how the recording will be preserved. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Do not rely on one uninterrupted stream longer than that to produce one complete YouTube archive; retain a separate recording and backup if the whole event or sermon must be kept.
See YouTube’s encoder guidance for the encoder workflow and archive details.

Live content must comply with YouTube’s Community Guidelines and Terms of Service, and YouTube can restrict a channel’s ability to live stream. Before broadcasting or replaying a sermon, confirm that the church has the rights it needs for music, recorded performances and any other material included. The permissions required depend on the material and applicable circumstances; do not assume that permission to perform something in person automatically covers a livestream or repeated recording. YouTube’s live-streaming guidance covers eligibility and platform rules.

- Powerful Pass-Through Charging: Supports up to 85W pass-through charging so you can power up your laptop while you use the hub. Note: Pass-through charging requires a charger (not included). Note: To achieve full power for iPad, we recommend using a 45W wall charger.
- Transfer Files in Seconds: Move files to and from your laptop at speeds of up to 5 Gbps via the USB-C and USB-A data ports. Note: The USB C 5Gbps Data port does not support video output.
- HD Display: Connect to the HDMI port to stream or mirror content to an external monitor in resolutions of up to 4K@30Hz. Note: The USB-C ports do not support video output.
- What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
For a continuous channel, decide how recordings will be named, scheduled and rotated, who can update the playlist, and how the church will retain originals and backups. YouTube’s under-12-hour automatic archive is a platform behavior, not a complete church archive plan.
Optional equipment: a hardware encoder
A dedicated encoder is not required for every church workflow. YouTube’s verified encoder directory lists the AJA HELO Plus as a standalone H.264 encoder designed to stream directly to YouTube Live, with recording options. Consider dedicated hardware if the church wants a physical encoding device for live production; it does not replace a cloud service for unattended playback of prerecorded sermons.
Troubleshooting common problems
- Live streaming is unavailable: Check channel verification and whether the channel has had a live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. If this is the first activation, allow up to 24 hours.
- YouTube does not receive the encoder feed: Recheck that the correct stream URL and stream key were copied into the encoder and that the intended event is open in YouTube Studio. If the key was exposed, replace it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder.
- The stream ends or drops: Check the sending service or encoder connection and whether YouTube is still receiving the feed. A cloud service can avoid dependence on a home computer staying on; StreamNeo says it automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream.
- The complete service is missing from the archive: YouTube automatically archives streams under 12 hours. For a longer stream or a complete recording requirement, use a separate recording and backup workflow.
- Broadcasting continues but a recording is not saved: On StreamYard, storage reaching capacity can disable recording while broadcasting continues. Check plan recording limits and available storage, and keep an independent copy when the recording is important.
- A scheduled sermon stream exceeds the plan allowance: Review the service’s current prerecorded hours or scheduling limits. Restream states that Upload & Stream limits depend on plan; do not assume a paid feature means unlimited playback.
- A stream or recording includes material the church may not have rights to use: Pause publication until permissions for the music, performance or other content have been checked for the intended live and replay use.
Or let it run in the cloud
For a 24/7 loop of recorded sermons, StreamNeo’s process is three steps: upload the recording or build a playlist, add the YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; uploaded video streams at its original quality up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot; and StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly is $9.99 per month. It streams to YouTube only. Start the free first day with StreamNeo.
